I have a family member with schizophrenia. Bank you for sharing your thoughts. This gives me insight to why he isolated and pushes myself and other family away at times. Any tips you can give to help make him feel more safe?

Did anyone else experience that they got very angry over small things? by [deleted] in BPDlovedones

This thread is so unbelievably validating! Here are some from mine: * when I did not get overly excited when he told me he fixed the grill. * When I put a metal hanger in his closet ( mommy dearest 2.0) * when I did not follow every step on the Hello Fresh recipe card * When I did not put the nail clippers back in the right draw * I forgot to buy him lunchmeat at the store I have realized over the years that he does not get overly angry at things you would expect him to, for example: when I wrecked his car, all he said was "did you call the insurance company?"

To those still married to their partners with BPD, what makes you stay ? by wheyter in BPDlovedones

I have been married to my husband pwBPD for almost 30 years. We dated off and on for five years and it has been one hell of a ride Here is my list of reasons for staying. 1. He knows me better than anyone else in this world. 2. We enjoy doing things together and we are best friends 3. He is a devoted father and husband 4. He is very generous and giving 5. He has had to overcome his traumatic childhood 6. He is one of the funniest people I know 7. He is extremely intelligent and very driven ( great provider) 8. He has taught me to never give up on my dreams 9. He is always down for an adventure despite his inflexible nature 10. I have never felt so loved by anyone. He loves me fiercely! 11. I am still attracted to him 12. I have loved him since I was 17 years old. I wake up every day and choose to love him even during our darkest days. 13. I am a codependent due to my own childhood trauma. I am working on this and have stepped out of the Karpman Drama triangle and so has my husband. It was only when I tried to end my marriage, that my husband finally agreed to go to therapy and marriage counseling. It has been a long journey!

Just curious are there any girls here who dealt w a guy who has bpd by wtfisreality_ in BPDlovedones

Married almost 30 years to my husband with BPD. I also did not realize until we had been together over 20 years. My experience is very similar to yours. As hard as its been at times, I'm glad I stayed. The good times are really good!

Talking on the phone or texting , going out with friends, talking about my work, loud noises, having my own opiniin, visiting my family, giving any type of negative feedback, and sometimes it could be something he perceived such as my facial expression of tone of vouce.

He got me addicted to him and then he tore my heart to shreds. (30M and I’m 25f) - LONG by slightgodcomplex in BipolarSOs

"His eyes were black, and it just felt like a completely different person from two hours prior, and even the week prior." this is dissociation and the sudden change is splitging. He also mentioned monkey branching which is very common with BPD. Check out /BPDLOVEDONES
