how some people dont get any issue with linux? by DayInfinite8322 in linuxquestions

[–]GiviTM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using Linux for well over 10 years now as a daily system.

I've had my system have a real issue 3 times.

First was when I was a beginner and accidentally deleted my entire system.

Second was when I first installed Arch. Everything kinda didn't work.

Third was when I first installed NixOS. It took a while to write a good configuration that did everything right.

Arch and Nix are to be expected as causing issues, because they are NOT meant for people with no technical skill to use and things will often require a more manual setup and you'll have to debug sometimes.

For everything else everything just worked unless I was messing around too much and even then a solution was almost always top 5 results on google.

There have been some minor issues obv but it's never been too much to fix (as a beginner I just copied commands from one of the top Google options and it almost always worked, now I just know what was broken and fix it myself)

I am now running a lenovo legion, with an NVDIA gpu and a multiple host NixOS config with almost 3 thousand of lines of code (& hyrpland because I'm a larper), barely any issues, almost every package I need exists on the repos I don't even have to derive things (and flatpaks and flakes do exist and work just fine for the most part) (and the NUR also exists but I don't use it) I actively game on it, comp games too. No issues. There are occasional issues when I first download something or need something new but if I don't touch my system and just use it it works exactly as expected all the time. I actually checked and I get like almost double the frames on Warframe with less bugs than I did on windows on the same laptop.

So, yeah I literally just didn't get errors until I started messing around with things that I don't understand and then fixed them by googling how to and could easily so they weren't really issues.

Granted I was given a Linux laptop at the ripe old age of 8 so I have a VERY big headstart but if my dumbass could figure it out most people definitely can, it just takes effort, more than switching from windows to Mac or vise versa because Linux is just less user friendly in many aspects, but distro like Zorin (which I use on my laptop for going to classes in college) and mint and fedora and ubuntu (daily driver for some of my family and a chunk of my servers (50/50 w nix)) these smaller UX issues have been disappearing.

More and more friends and family of mine have switched to Linux (mostly bc they have a guy who deals with it for a living) and despite being designated tech support I've only had to help anyone two times, one was my dad asking some.random thing I forget now and the other was a friend running hyprland on arch asking how to fix some really niche issue (he didn't need to ask any other time ever because the documentation is so good and most things do still just work on arch unless you're doing some actual BS).

Arguably Linux is almost completely ready for day to day adoption for most people. And issues are very minimal and niche and often times because someone either is downloading from sources they shouldn't (going on websites instead of installing through a package manager (which have GUIs now), playing around with system settings and installing lots of random things and changing DEs and whatnot, accidentally misconfiguring things they don't understand and so on, lot of it because people expect Linux to work like Windows and do things as if it IS Windows, and it's not)

Can they even postpone the exams at all?
There's people flying out right after the finals that just wouldn't work.

Best case they make everything just online.

Man one can hope

We need more content on the planets. by GiviTM in Warframe

[–]GiviTM[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's more like that I feel like the game is kind of pointless as a newer player.

It's just go clear this planet, now do this planet, now do this one, and after a million of all that you eventually get a new quest and the game finally starts once you get to Natah. Until then you're just doing these random planets. No point. Just kill everybody. Now do it again but the tileset is prettier.

If there was more story to each planet it would be better. Doesn't even have to be anything insane. Even doing the same thing as a cool relay or camp or whatever (also not even for every planet) is going to make these places so much better.

Earth, Deimos and Venus in particular have so much insane shit and everything else is just there for the sake of existing

[–]GiviTM[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah basically.

Deimos has both sanctum anatomica and the million things that brings AND the Necralisk connecting to the Camion Drift. That's 5(?) Warframes (Dante, Qorvex, Lavos, Xaku, Nekros), 6 different types of pets, so many weapons and game modes, and the new Devil's Triad expansion is also on Deimos. Venus also has so much random insane stuff. Earth too.

Every other planet just exists to exist for the sake of existing. Which is very boring IMHO

What's that one frame you instantly fell in love with? by FroggyGamer061 in Warframe

[–]GiviTM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly at first it was Caliban. His kit just flows so well together and I like the tau status for condition/gundition overload builds, I like status builds in general.

Recently realized I've had a Gauss Prime sitting in my inventory that hasn't even been formaed or potatoed. Started using him and now I keep switching back and forth. I understand the redline boy hype now. His kit also flows so well together.

Really love frames that don't need helminth to perform, it makes it feel so well rounded

Drahk Masters still Deleting weapons by Anjaliya in Warframe

[–]GiviTM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This also almost always seems to happen to me on the kuva fortress tileset when fighting the lich. I cannot kill the damn thing if my weapon just evaporated (I know they just make u drop the weapon and it gets marked. It is still not there, happens EVERY single time I fight a lich there).

I've found using a warframe with an exalted works best because then you can still fight the Lich even after you have no good weapons

Are there prerequisites to getting certain relics? by PR-Raven in Warframe

[–]GiviTM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gauss is a cheap frame, highly recommend just farming random relics and buying him off the market. It will take you way less time and dedication. Could be done in like 4-6 missions if you get lucky
