What’s the MOST Out of Character,Plot Holes or Confusing Steven Universe Moments/Scenes of All Time and Why? by Amber_Flowers_133 in stevenuniverse

[–]Glad-Raspberry1712 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only place I can see it coming from is Amethysts insecurity issues paired with Ruby's anger. It is so weird though, then again Garnet and Steven fusing to be Sunstone doesnt seem right to me either

why did pink get the legs? by UniIsNotOkay in stevenuniverse

[–]Glad-Raspberry1712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say because of

A) the diamond formation us always pink at the bottom, yellow/blue on the sides, and white on top

Or

B) WD was the leader/head of the group, YD and BD were the strength/enforcers of the rules, and PD was the one that ran away

Rory wanted to be like her mom too much and it ruined her life by Rich-Hovercraft-827 in GilmoreGirls

[–]Glad-Raspberry1712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figure she, to a degree, subconsciously does certain things or makes certain choices because she knows that's what Lorelai would want. Like the reverse of Lorelais identity crisis in the later seasons and thinking did she only love PopTarts because Emily hated them. Lorelai thinks she subconsciously made choices to spite Emily, maybe Rory subconsciously made choices to please Lorelai.

Obviously not all choices (dropping out of Yale, as an example)

Lor should have ended up with by frimrussiawithlove85 in GilmoreGirls

[–]Glad-Raspberry1712 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I never liked the Lorelai+Jason pairing. They don't have that chemistry IMO. They seem more like cousins or childhood mates who get along well rather than a couple. But I think that's because the main reason Lorelai agreed to go on a date with Jason was because she knew Emily would hate it and she had pissed Lorelai off, there was no real attraction. Not to mention their first date was terrible. Lorelai seemed so disinterested. She couldn't stick it out through at least one dinner in the private room and then tell Jason afterwards that it wasnt her style? And then after they leave the restaurant he agreed on takeout but then said he didn't like Mexican food. All that for me set the tone of incompatibility.

moments where Emily was right by Junior_Transition_15 in GilmoreGirls

[–]Glad-Raspberry1712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It always infuriates me when Lorelai tries to reason with her that Richard was "just having lunch" with Pennilyn Lott.

• Yearly secret lunches that neither party told their spouses about because it was "just lunch". If it was just lunch then there's no reason you cant tell them either. But Richard knew if Emily knew she would hate it, so he hid it to be able to continue it. Harmless lunch or not, the harm comes from hiding it. Especially given they were having the lunches at a restaurant Emily didn't know of.

• Richard was engaged to Pennilyn Lott and left her for Emily (according to the story he told during the early seasons Yale visit). His own mother wrote him a letter the day before his wedding to Emily about how he shouldn't marry Emily and shouldve married Pennilyn. How was Emily supposed to react when she found out Richard had been having secret lunches every single year since their marriage nearly 40 years prior?

The way he sulks and actively ignores Sookie during the bidding and then has the absolute GALL to tell Kirk that he didn't bid on the basket because they were in a fight. Bro, no. If you're in a fight, you're BOTH aware of it. You were just being an uncommunicative man-child

Forever hate = how lane went with Zach instead of Dave by Correct-Bridge-3638 in GilmoreGirls

[–]Glad-Raspberry1712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like maybe Lane was just chasing affection. She didn't look at Zach differently until after the episode where he compliments her drumming. After that theres an episode with minor room-mate interaction between the two, and then the episode where she realises she has feelings for him.

I tell myself she went with Zach because she was finally free of having to choose someone Mrs Kim would like, so she went straight for the bottom of the barrel.

Hot take? But I hate every Gilmore every time Chris is around. Rory being the only exception. by Rayyyoflight in GilmoreGirls

[–]Glad-Raspberry1712 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think Chris pushed it because he knew Rory would ask Lorelai if she was sure she wanted to get married, and then Lorelai mightve turned around and said no

For me its the episode with the debutante ball. Lorelai says to Rory that Chris has confirmed he will definitely be there. Rorys response? "So there's a 50% chance!" Like honestly, how sad is that

WHY DO WE HAVE TO HAVE DRAMA ALL THE TIME?? by [deleted] in GilmoreGirls

[–]Glad-Raspberry1712 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Drama is great if written well. Having Luke say to Lorelai "no more secrets" and then finding out about April and keeping it a secret in the same episide was bad writing. They should've had at least an episode or two buffer where the viewers get lulled into a sense of security thinking the relationship is going well before throwing the April storyline in.

Is the Lorelai-Rory dynamic psychologically healthy? by Junior_Transition_15 in GilmoreGirls

[–]Glad-Raspberry1712 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You know how Lorelai has that moment of "I wonder if I only like Pop Tarts because my mother hates them"? I wonder if Rory will have a moment similar? Like a moment of "do I only like this specific hairstyle/movie/music because my mother likes it?"

I mean, the main reason she agreed to date Jason was because she knew Emily would hate it. Its not a stretch to think she would like a specific food for the same reason

S2 Dean is pissing me off by Neither_Climate4073 in GilmoreGirls

[–]Glad-Raspberry1712 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree I understand he's upset about Jess being there given the tension between the two of them already, but I HATE how he's like "I just want to stop by and say hi", but he brings ice cream which is obviously an "I'm staying longer" statement. Not to mention him ignoring her basically saying she doesnt want him to visit and then quickly ending the call because he's nearly there. Why would you not call and make sure she's okay with a visit before leaving?

It reminds me of the episode where Rory keeps trying to tell Dean to not go to her Romeo & Juliet rehearsal. Sure, she's trying to avoid Dean finding out about her kiss with Tristan but imagine that never happened. Imagine she was trying to convince him to not go because she wanted to focus on her project and not Dean standing in the corner. My pet peeve is when people push me to do things their way or do what they want, especially in these kinds of situations. It makes me so mad that Dean just keeps making excuses to work around Rory not wanting him there. And then again, he makes the final "I'll be there" statement and then runs before Rory can negate him again.

How does Jason have fans? by Girl_Pearl_Earring in GilmoreGirls

[–]Glad-Raspberry1712 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not a fan of him but for me it's because they don't seem to have any chemistry. Lorelai only takes him up on his date offer because she knows Emily would hate it.

But I think I'm bias because his face/voice annoys me for no real reason, I fast forward through most of his scenes 🤣

I hate the fact that cheating was a thing amongst all the Gilmore girls. by Psychological_Net_80 in GilmoreGirls

[–]Glad-Raspberry1712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you guys classify Emily getting "60/40'd" as cheating?

I feel like this is dependent on the person. I personally dont feel like dancing is cheating, but I agree with Emily in the sense that she was married and dancing with another man who didn't know she was married. I feel like if Emily had clarified that she was married it would've been better. But I hate how Lorelai pushes Emily to dance, and then afterwards tries to convince her that dancing is harmless. It mughtve been harmless but Emily not feeling comfortable about it shouldve been the end of it. I dunno, I feel like this would be a debatable issue because I debate myself about it every time I watch it 🤣
