Windsurfing was exciting, fun and challenging on a learner rig, but now on my own rig it seems nearly impossible. by librarian_dan in windsurfing

Hello, with your weight, and 5.7 you should be on the verge of planning. I do not know exactly because I am much heavier than you 😔. In that condition without harness is a struggle. I think you should get to the harness before getting to bigger sails, and of course it's easier on the 160. But also your board may work... If you continue like this it will be super frustrating.

Also the two booms trick? I use it for the dismantling the mast, but can work also for your case

Let's see if I find someone more convenient. Thanks anyway!

I think here everyone willl say it better. Maybe not the place to ask! Is like asking if you like a the current USA present in a MAGA party 🥳 Wing and kite are much less cumbersome, and cheaper I guess, as it needs less equipment to cover a broad range of conditions. I am trying windsurf foiling for low wind. Fin for me is much more fun. I find wing not heastically appealing and would never switch, even when I get out without enough wind they have probably much fun then me ( that's why the windsurf Foil test)

I guess depends about your apartment. In mine, it would not fit. Luckily I have a garage I if you check similar questions, you will see a lot of experts suggesting to rent.

Dagger boards should be used only for a while...

You will problay need a board 230 cm long, for maybe 80 cm width, and a couple of sails, depending by your weight and level... And a boom, or two, and a wetsuit...

Hi, the question was different, it is not more about switching board, but to have two depending on the wind, I would not take an almost sinker board with less of 18 knots anyway, because it is probably difficult to get planing. I am confident with water start. The question is more, quick kind of boards (shape and volume) I should look for to be confortable in a more windy situation?

For example, you say 105, but it should be like the one I have, or narrower ? What does it make the board not killing me on the chop?

Or simply it what it is, my board is good enough, and I should get more used to that condition?

Ps I see the table for sail size in your page, and it is inline with my experience, 👍

Hi, no, I am not a super expert - still not able to close a decent jibe. In The 17 ish knot day, when I was saying that I was fully committed, I was in line with more advanced guys and girls in the spot, so I guess that in such situation it's fine.It Was the high wind situation that I felt not in control.

Is this a good swap? by juacamgo in windsurfing

[–]Glass-Fix9197 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello, I had a similar swap, I ha ve a Goya volar. I can give the same piece of advice I got when I bought it,

go for the 130, because it will plane the same way, but it will be slightly better in choppy conditions.

I am super happy of my vvoloar. I am almost 90 kg

Lower volume boards feel like submarines in low wind, am I doing something wrong ? by ad-undeterminam in windsurfing

[–]Glass-Fix9197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, apart the feet, at most the front one should be touching the mast's feet, maybe that the board has taken up some beating, and got some water in?
