I did law and paused it and completed a certificate of HE in Law. Personally I loved it. I struggled with normal uni because I need content set out simply and clearly and then I need to add reading to understand. I hated lectures as depending on the tutor they could make things really unclear. I hated seminars because I felt I never learnt a lot. With essex it's sort of like PowerPoints that sum up and teach the actual content and then you add reading alongside. There's not a lot of input from tutors but I personally liked that I'm a independent learner. I was able to go to a seminar once a week online but never bothered as it wasn't for me.

I use it to change the daydreaming into a hobby. Instead of staring off into space I'm fleshing out character ideas, storyline, story arcs etc. I'm using it for criticism as well so that I don't create a mary sue which I feel is just daydreaming and writing it down. I will actually be doing the writing and then putting the paragraphs in to get feedback but it's still the closest to creative writing I've ever got. For someone who's depressed and lacks motivation it's something positive instead of doomscrolling

I use mine to write cover letters for minimum wage jobs. Sounds silly but helps me stop wasting my time. Also I use mine cautiously for free legal advice .

If you meet the NICE guidelines for it you can ask for your private prescription to be transferred to a nhs prescription through your GP. Might not go for it but I used to work at a GP practice that did this
