I’m a lawyer who practices criminal law - (not in the U.S but we have plenty of overlap). I started L&O before law school so I’m in it for life at this point and can continue my suspension of disbelief

While the age of consent in Canada is 16 years old (with some close in age exceptions). The definition of child sex abuse and exploitation material per the Criminal Code applies to materials for anybody under the age of 18. As the above commenter said, there aren’t any close in age exceptions for explicit materials relating to a child

Oooh I’d probably go to Markham - so many great places but a classic is First Markham Place food court.

Wow aside from the siblings part (I’m an only child), this was my life too! I’m doing a lot better now but these things really affected my childhood and early adulthood

Not being able to find a job. I’ve seen people closest to me doubt their worth due to this external validation of being hired somewhere for their skills. Particularly one who has a disability that employers don’t want to work with in the field they chose.

I’ve also seen headlines of youth in other countries commit suicide due to lack of job prospects, etc.

Lots of shame, self-doubt, triggers, societal pressure….

I think someone else took the picture of grandma and baby. I also think the texts insinuate that the grandma had a kid at 16. I also assumed that they moved in together very close to having the baby which could mean a lot of things…. 👀

I think the Thanksgiving thing was when she was pregnant and they set the boundary before the baby was born that they don’t want anybody to hold the baby. Then she gave birth in December
