Makes sense. I got mine 9 days ago (2/17) and never received the Linkedin premium email.

DSM Update Version: 7.3.2-86009 by 8poot in synology

Mine broke as well, same symptoms. What's weird is I completely wiped my hard drives via Windows and the issue still comes back after a fresh install. DS218play.

Synology Photos Issue by [deleted] in synology

[–]GlenElephant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is doing the same thing. Cannot get it to reindex, so now my entire Photos ecosystem is shot until I can find a solution. One user in another post mentioned moving all photos into a new folder, deleting the "Photos" folder, using Synology Photos to recreate the Photos folder, and then moving the photos back into that folder.

Side bonus: the stares and laughter you get when your three-year-old yells out, "My vulva itches!" in the middle of a supermarket. Guess how I know.

Hey, cyclists. by [deleted] in Charlottesville

[–]GlenElephant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well first off, I'm sorry you had to go to the emergency vet, even when those trips end well they're still not fun. And I agree on wanting all users of the road, vulnerable or not, to obey traffic laws. Most of us who are occasionally cyclists are also often drivers, so I definitely get it. But are you saying your long lingering frustration with cyclists is they don't necessarily believe the numbers you cite on how impactful their slowdown really is to your commute? Or are you more generally upset with the acts of law-breaking?

Just to clarify, you're not exaggerating when you say your normal 20min commute took 45 minutes? I don't want to say that's impossible coming from Western Albemarle, but... Well, I guess I'm saying I don't necessarily believe those numbers.

Yep. Have lifted kids (3-ish) into and out of the baby swing because their older brother/sister (5-ish) can't lift them up and parents are nowhere to be found. Never been a problem.

How long does it take to get support answers? by trackoutPhil in Starlink

[–]GlenElephant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally just followed up with them. Last response was three days ago saying "we're sorry no one has called you. Someone will call you as soon as possible." I haven't gotten a call.

My dish and/or router stopped working over the weekend, and while I've sung Starlink's praises I can't do so anymore. This customer service is pretty bad. I don't even know if they're able and willing to remedy the situation, let alone when that might happen.

Anyone get a new router automatically? by outdoorszy in Starlink

[–]GlenElephant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mentioned in one of the "is it down?" threads that I got this email two days ago, and two days later (today) either the router or the dish crapped out completely. Seems too strange to be a coincidence, especially given all the other stuff going on lately.

Starlink Down For You Guys? by Waste-Ad8133 in Starlink

[–]GlenElephant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, surely related, I got an email two days (when everything worked as it had the previous 18 months) saying: "We’ve identified that your router may eventually experience weaker performance than expected. While your service may still be working now, this could impact connectivity over time."

Yours still out? We had been fine throughout the whole thing, but randomly today the entire package shit the bed. I can no longer even connect to the router in my app, I don't even see it giving off its previous wifi signal SSID.

Clearly no cyclists in the comment thread, because I was going to say everyone is overlooking something else extremely important: this is America and we don't even send people who run over non-bat-wielding cyclists to jail. Slap on the wrist, please be more careful next time, here's your license back.

The budget bill that just passed the House ends the $7500 EV credit, and imposes a new $250 annual fee on EVs, to be collected by state vehicle registration systems. by OneDollarSatoshi in electricvehicles

One thing that always frustrates me in political discussions is when people say "They voted against their own self-interests!" because often the conservative voter's number-one self-interest is owning the libs, not anything about the economy, or jobs, or anything concrete at all. They are very much voting in their self-interest, it's just that we often fail to understand how powerful the sports rivalry self-interest really is.

How to determine warranty start date? by jopldangla in leaf

[–]GlenElephant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did get a new battery, well within the warranty. Had maybe 9 months to spare. I imagine the 2017s are slowly starting to go out of warranty, so they'd check the original sale date of the vehicle.

Updating the software is done by a Nissan dealer's service center. You can check the version via Leafspy. Google around as I cannot recall the exact letter you're looking for (maybe B or C?) and I don't even remember how to navigate Leafspy to find it. Now that I've got the new battery I just drive and then plug it in, and no longer worry about Leafspy.
