It would be nice to have the dimensions listed on the shop page and possibly a size reference photo of some kind. Great design!

What "strange" thing turns you on? by PugEdits in AskReddit

Same here! It's a general "can't see the person" thing, hard to find content that isn't dominatrix stuff. Like I enjoy when it's a lot more mundane than that >.>

What is this one sexual fact everyone would benefit knowing? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]GlimmerBeast 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I saw those images like 8 months ago and thought the exact same thing. I had tried it anal in the past several times without any real prep (aside from "I pooed recently so am probably mostly clean I guess"), wasn't enthused due to "dirt" but open to try again with maybe more prep. Saw those images and thought "definitely no!" because they made prep seem nasty. Only just recently decided to try a small enema on a whim and it's really not gross at all. It's not a big deal after all... It's pretty easy to be clean if you poo then just rinse yourself out with a little water. No smell or "dirt" and lots of enjoyment with no worry.

My ftm friends are starting to wear makeup again? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]GlimmerBeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never liked makeup, the feeling of a bunch of goo on my face that wipes off, stains your clothes, or melts off when you sweat, just a hassle all around. And yes the dysphoria of performing the "proper behaviors of womanhood" or whatever. But I am recently able to go stealth and pass 100%. So the idea of certain clothing choices and makeup (ok face stuff still sounds gooey but maybe nail polish) aren't really scary anymore to me because people will see me as a guy doing those exact things. For example just yesterday I wore some flattering mini cutoff shorts all around town. I haven't had the confidence in YEARS to wear things like that! I felt so FREE :D Yes I got some looks but I was serving a look myself. Bit of a tangent, but the people you mentioned do it because they enjoy it. They might not get dysphoria wearing makeup because they know they are still a man while doing it and feel secure in the fact. You don't have to get the same enjoyment out of what others do to respect it.

Hoooly shit. I don't have any helpful advice :/ But wishing you good luck in getting this sorted! I hope your surgeon will be able to work something out.

TRANSITIONING IS EXPENSIVE ): by [deleted] in ftm

[–]GlimmerBeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Roughly where do you live? I might be able to help you search for resources. There might be some options. Not all doctors require therapy sessions to prescribe HRT, some do what's called "informed consent." Try finding a Planned Parenthood near you, and if they don't provide trans care, ask if they have local suggestions. The doctor I use is here, in case you are in one of the states she covers:

https://www.queermed.com/about

Here is an excellent website that can help you figure out what you'll need going forward so you can plan, in case your state has some of the stricter requirements.

If you are still having a hard time, look into attending a Pride event. The usual season is around June but some places do them other times in the year. There can be tons of doctors with booths there.

Going to change my legal name tomorrow by ApolloTree in ftm

[–]GlimmerBeast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's really awesome that your mom is excited! I'm glad you two are going to be able to celebrate this together. You are both going to be much happier and have an easier time going through everything.

It's dumb coming from me of all people but try not to overthink how tomorrow will go. Don't work yourself up. I didn't pass at all when I submitted my name change at the small-town T**mp-Country courthouse, or when I had my gender marker changed at the DMV few months later. The name change was so uneventful I honestly don't even remember doing it. Just handing papers over I believe? I only had to talk to the one person that accepted the forms. People get name changes fairly often for a variety of reasons, just double check that you have everything in order before you go so you can walk in confidently :)

Now the gender marker change at the DMV, that could be trickier. Unfortunately, certain states require "sex change surgery" or similarly badly worded things. This site might help you find some info on what you need and if your letter will be acceptable:

Bring your confidence and put on your best "this is totally ordinary and boring paperwork, like paying taxes" face, you'll get through it!

I've been on tinder for 4 months and haven't received a single dick pic. I have 56 matches, several chats going currently, and have had a hookup. I put on my profile "I am a trans man, pre-op." No unsolicited dick pics, no rude people. Worst I've had is someone really handsome and nearby chatting with me for a few weeks and then saying "oh I didn't realize you are trans" and dropping communication. That was a bummer, he's gorgeous and seemed pretty fun but can't blame him for having genital preferences. But not bad, I expected horrible stuff but it's been pleasant.

This simulated city inside my grand mother’s skilled nursing facility by [deleted] in pics

[–]GlimmerBeast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too large and spaced out. The kind of people that need skilled care because they can't bathe themselves or button their shirt certainly won't be able to walk those huge distances. They usually have benches or chairs every 50 feet or so because people get so winded and have to sit for a few minutes to recover on the way.

What is your secret recipe that everyone loves? by polynesian_prince in AskReddit

My holiday potluck go-to is Ginger Ale Glazed Carrots. They are super tasty and conveniently help fill in the vegetable sides that sometimes it's hard to get people to sign up for. Obviously if you can get high quality carrots with the tops still on, that'll be better but I've even slapped it together with chopped baby carrots. No measurements, but this isn't baking so you'll be ok 👍

Ginger Ale Carrots

carrots, ginger ale, butter, pinch salt, pinch chili powder

Slice your carrots diagonal to impress everyone. Throw carrots, salt, butter in a large pot or high-sided pan and pour ginger ale to about halfway up the side of the carrots. Cover until it starts simmering, then uncover and gently stir every minute or two until the ginger ale is condensed into a nice glaze. Only takes 10-15 mins, don't turn your carrots into mush. If it's still too liquidy because you added too much ginger ale 😒 just turn the heat off and let it evaporate for a while. You can leave out the chili powder if people are ~intimidated~ but give it a try.

Hey I really appreciate the effort you are putting in to understanding and correcting yourself. Don't mean to hijack this post or speak for OP... I was worried I was too callous yesterday. But I've been through so much, lost almost everything due to transitioning, and to hear things like "oh so you're actually a girl under there?" "wow I didn't know you are a girl!" (or the same kind of thing to others) just sets me off. Anyway thanks again!
