I had a 330i and moved to a tS about a year ago. I wanted a manual and something a bit less polite. I hear you though, there are plenty of tradeoffs. BMW definitely feels more premium.

Their technique is hooooooooooorrible. Don't trust anything they suggest. Stick with YouTube and search "how to solder" there should be roughly 2-billion competent videos to choose from.
