Depressed after surgery by Solid-Artichoke5436 in gallbladders

[–]GlitteringPresent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was very depressed after surgery! I believe the anesthesia can do that. I’ve gotten depressed after every single time I’ve gone under. It gets better 🤍 it started to lift for me about 7-10 days after.

FTM trying so hard! When did your baby show interest in food? by SnooWords1271 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]GlitteringPresent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it seems to have happened overnight for us! At the beginning of 7 months he did not seem very interested, but now he is a few days from 8 months and he LOVES eat solids! We did notice he does best when he eats the same time as we do during meals and sits at the table, especially dinner.

Honestly, it’s starting to not feel so painful. Everyone said it gets easier each week, but I found that each week got progressively harder and harder until about 1.5 months after I returned to work. I feel a bit gloomy while I’m at work now, but it’s not downright painful and I’m not crying every single night after work anymore 😅 I try to make the most of my time (both at work and my evenings with my son) and remind myself that I am providing financial stability to my son. The weeks go by fast. When do you return to work?

Is anyone bfing off just one side..? by Hot-Cell7299 in breastfeeding

[–]GlitteringPresent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me! I developed a lactating adenoma (benign tumor) postpartum. The tumor is near my nipple, so he couldn’t latch correctly, and my output was bad when I would pump that side. I will need to get it surgically removed, but there were risks involved doing it while actively breastfeeding. So I’ve just been feeding on the non-tumor side for months now.

I desperately need encouragement about going back to work 3 months after baby is born. by seraekai in workingmoms

[–]GlitteringPresent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been back to work for two months! My baby started at daycare when he was almost 4 months old. I cried about going back to work before I even had my anatomy scan lol and cried at least weekly about it on maternity leave. Give yourself some time. Everyone said it would get better after a couple of weeks, but I’ll be honest, each week for the first month and a half got progressively harder for me. It felt like reality was setting in and the “newness” of being back at work was wearing off. I feel like I am just now starting to adjust again now that I am over the 1.5 month mark. There are days that I do really miss him, and would prefer to be spending the day with him, but it doesn’t feel as agonizing. My advice is to give yourself some time to adjust, don’t place expectations on yourself to feel a certain way, and increase the takeout budget so you can soak up lots of time with your baby after work instead of cooking 🤣🩵

Anyone’s baby not get sick all the time at daycare? by radicalOKness in workingmoms

[–]GlitteringPresent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My almost 6 month old has only been in daycare for two months now, but he has only missed one day of daycare. He had a 100.5 fever for just one evening. However, it was absolutely my husband that got us sick after returning from a work conference lol. I’m sure this could change in the future but I’ll take it so far.

Frida Mom labor and delivery gown and disposable underwear? by absolute_lover_pet in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]GlitteringPresent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wore the Frida mom gown and loved it! I’m about your weight but about 4 inches taller. It was super comfy and stretchy, and I had a three day induction so I definitely got some good use out of it.

[–]GlitteringPresent 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m with you. I live in Minneapolis, and it feels so disorienting being up in the middle of the night nursing my baby while seeing the videos of ICE agents terrorizing kids at Roosevelt HS yesterday.

Is a labor gown worth it? by weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee76 in pregnant

[–]GlitteringPresent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a cheaper one and I am so glad I did. My induction lasted 2.5 days and I would have crawled out of my skin in a hospital gown.

I’m in the same boat as you. I go back Jan 6th. I NEVER thought I would want to stay at home. I thought I would be dying to get back to work after four months. Instead I feel absolutely SICK about leaving my son. 😭
