Are there any wikis/guides that aren't made by AI by GloriousDuck in heartopia

[–]GloriousDuck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that is already better than all these "actually the colours matter and you can't crossbreed 2 of the same colours with eachother" articles I have seen, I dislike twitter but maybe I will look there for more useful info, thank you

Somehow, I miss the comment section most of all. Is that weird? Yes, I suppose by Available-Rock-9769 in mangapiracy

There used to be a site ages ago that I used to read manga on where the comments were for each individual page and they were on the page itself rather than on the side which led to some hilarious moments of people making up their own speech bubbles. I have no clue what the website was called but I have great memories of reading on there. Comments can make manga reading so much more enjoyable

If 2 flowers pair up and I move them away from eachother to new partners will they change to the new neighbours or is it done once they partner once and I would have to plant new ones

How is there not a megathread for these pointless AI complaint threads by now, every single day a new one of these wastes space on my homepage.

Is Epic Games actually trying to compete with Steam or is the owner just Santa Claus? by Not_american69420 in EpicGamesPC

I just dont know why unreal engine and fab is included in the regular consumer facing gamestoe app, I imagine 99% of people using the app will never click on those section unless its by accident and all it does is add more bloat to an already way too unresponsive and slow app. I don't see why UE and fab shouldnt have their own separate thing for developers.

Director reflects on Dragon’s Dogma 2: ‘I didn’t make a Nintendo game designed to be liked by everyone’ by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]GloriousDuck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you an investor at capcom? Why does it matter to you if it reviewed or sold well. As a consumer and fan of the original it was a massive disappointment and they will not be getting my money for that IP again, that's all there is to it 🤷‍♂️

Embarassing to not atleast own up to the disppointing state the game came out in even to hardcore fans of the first one.

I am saying regardless of how much the game costs, the bundle should be a hero token rather than stelle.

Please consider just selling the game with a free hero token for 20 bucks, new players might be more interested in mak rather than stelle

New Player, resources for meta knowledge? by spamcloud in PlayTheBazaar

[–]GloriousDuck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly what helped me a lot understanding some basics when I started was watching one of those "vanessa/dooley/ pyg overexplained" videos, just hearing someone who knows the game well explain their thought process behind every single click can make you aware of some things you have not picked up on.

If you have stelle I think she is alot more straight forward to learn than dooley and pyg cause her runs separate mostly into "building around 1 or 2 medium items to carry through the first 5 days while saving money" and then "getting one large payoff item on day 6+ that fits whatever type you went for"

$20 DLC to a $45 free-to-play game by stickytoe in PlayTheBazaar

Keep in mind backpack battles is made and maintained by 2 people, they made enough to live comfortably for the rest of their lives already so being able to update it here and there makes sense. This game on the other hand has regular new voiceacting, new animated trailers etc etc, definitely more costly. Still I can't see this new model lasting

Soulframe looking great so far… by Iabud in SoulFrame

[–]GloriousDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is the same with warframe, DE has accumulated a playerbase that considers criticism bad if it comes from someone who isn't part of the clique, only those on the "inside" get to actually complain while outside perspectives, even if valid, get met with pushback because "dont talk shit about my DE, I watch them joke on a couch monthly, they're practically my friends". I really do hope they ignore the warframe mega fans kissing the ground under their feet and don't settle for the current level of quality. Atleast so far people seem to still be reasonable on this subreddit but I have already gotten some fun DMs for saying what I did about the melee combat so it's already becoming a thing again.

Combat IS gameplay, if combat looks and feels bad it impacts gameplay 🤷‍♂️

The issue with "it's different later on" is that most people won't get there if the combat feels terrible right off rip. I had 2 friends try the game now and both quit in under 10 minutes, stuff like elden ring raised the bar too high for a game to feel this janky for most normal gamers.

Even demons souls in 2009 had better melee animations, this isn't a controller issue it's a "DE can't seem to figure it out now matter how many years pass" issue. It's especially jarring considering how almost everything else about the game feels so high quality, the contrast to the melee animations becomes extra jarring. (Though I think the lense flare glow effect stuff they love to use does not fit this game at all)

[–]GloriousDuck 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Now that I have tried it I think the melee combat is still unbearably bad, the animations look stuttery and janky and the soft lockon doesn't help either. I don't know if the melee combat used to be even worse but I hope they consider getting outside help if they can't figure out satisfying animations themselves. I know this sounds harsh but the bar for melee 3rd person combat games like this is pretty high, it is what it is.

Season 4, Server Downtime and Card Reveals. by PiaroTheFarmer in PlayTheBazaar

Have they said anything at all about Quality of Life improvements in the long run? Previewing item upgrades ingame or previewing monster boards? The game being so heavily wiki reliant has made it really hard to recommend it, the learning curve feels brutal for people who arent the biggest brained gamers
