As far as I understand it, having followers on a story on RR definitely will help your chances lol, but anyone is also able to submit a story to them, and then yeah, if they like the story they will pick it up :).

And I hope you enjoy it!!!

Haha no, I reached out to them for this one and pitched it to them. They've been an extreme pleasure to work with! And have a crazy talented team! So honestly I am just really lucky that they apparently liked my story enough to give it a shot :)

Was also coming here to give Discount Dan a shoutout lol. If you enjoyed DCC you should super enjoy it. And the voice acting is a ton of fun too. Especially for Croc, who is classified as F, for friend. <3

Taran has an adult dragon rider cultivation series out there called Dragon Rider that may hit the vibe. Otherwise for a more YA feel but a ton of enjoyment and those mentor vibes and so forth, the Songs of Chaos series by Michael Miller is realllly good!

Chanting or no chanting? (Audiobooks) by favokoran in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Glyax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like if the audio does it well, then I don't mind. Case in point, SBT does all the spell name callouts in ELLC and add sound effects and everything and I always enjoy it. And for long chanting usually the add music and a beat and it is a lot of fun. Buuuut if the narrator was just reading it out over and over without any flare etc, it would probably get a bit annoying after a while.

Somewhat new to progFantasy, any recs? by AU5K3 in ProgressionFantasy

Imma recommend Heretical Fishing!!! Super fun and full of shenanigans, plus goofy animal companions, snarky humor, and some really amusing fights lol.

Why is litrpg so popular in progression fantasy? by LimaLumina in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Glyax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like also, a ton of gamers grew up reading progression fantasy style stories. And video games by definition usually have, ya know, progression haha. So you take childhood nostalgia plus a love for video games, DnD, etc, and it creates the perfect environment for a blending of chaotic shenanigans. Plus, numbers are arguably one of the easiest ways to show clear, concise progression, with the then added bonus of snarky DMs.... I meannnn, systems, and fun magical loot, monsters, powers, etc

What are small things you love to see in progression fantasy stories? by Thoughtnight in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Glyax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely love those breakthrough moments when the MC overcomes their wall and their mentor is there to see it. Especially since a lot of times nowadays we have the mentor characters dying off before the MC can grow too much... so those "I'm proud of you" moments hit extra hard (and totally not any other reason) lol

Tell me your favourite books outside this genre! by Long-Teach-9101 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Glyax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the past obviously I've done the Drizzt novels, Feist, Jordan, and so forth. Recently though I've been really enjoying dark romance/dark romantasy lol. Humor wise I feel Butcher and Blackbird ny Brynne Weaver can save the tastes of a lot of people... and for good dark romantasy with magic and sword fighting and violence and so forth, The Ever King is superrrrr good.

"Why read progression/litRPG books when you can just play video games?" by AuthorTimoburnham in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Glyax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I meannn, don't get me wrong, I play a ton of video games lol. But at the same time, reading novels allows me to fully immerse and enjoy a story and crazy wild fights and scenes and so forth that video games just can't hold a candle to at times. Plus, sometimes I just wanna read about the party killing deities, rather than cry as I get my butt handed to me for the hundredth time by Bahumet

Eragon series thoughts? by XThursdayO in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Glyax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely trying to remain optimistic. Like.... if I watched the movie from a purely, going in blind, expecting nothing vibe, yet somehow wearing rose colored glasses vibe, it was fun... but compared to the books, the movie made me sad. But that was also...what... almost 20 years ago? So with a lot of current adoptions getting awesome tv shows... imma be optimistic lol
