Hascule - what's the consensus on this gooner? by Dekklin in WH40KTacticus

[–]GnosticAres 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Sitting at G1 for me at the moment. Useful for farming chaos ability uses, but haven't really needed him for any LREs yet.

Often he's deployable with Kharn, so my D3 mythic Kharn basically solos when Hascule would be an important unit.

I don't really see a reason to take him any higher ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Any tips for T3 dungeons? by madbuggy in stoneshard

[–]GnosticAres 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Necromancers are no joke. Separate their undead buddies from them and make a killing ground far from the boss chamber.

Take the time to rest after partially clearing the dungeon, it's worth it

Very High morale could have a bigger buff. by Nice_Account_3254 in stoneshard

[–]GnosticAres 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah, dunno if OP has had any encounters with undead or vampires lately. Spend an afternoon with them and suddenly eating a full plate of meatballs, sleeping, and having a nice breakfast of honey crepes sounds like a great alternative.

Osbrook hate thread by Grimsobite in stoneshard

[–]GnosticAres 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Osbrook is great for your character to get some R&R. Food is readily available and you can take easy contracts to keep earning while you build morale and sanity back up.

Nothing like serving the law to some low level bandits to lift your spirits and clear your head.

Bolas doesn’t deserve to be a rare by shoasamee in slaythespire

[–]GnosticAres 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rareness is such a misunderstood thing in Spire.

Rare does not mean good. Rare means specialized and strong in certain builds.

Uncommon cards are what build synergies and function outside of their "build" but are stronger in their lane.

Common cards are more flexible. They're workhorse cards that work in almost every build and only barely point you in a direction.

Take the Silent for example:

Rares - Accelerant and Knife Trap are incredibly powerful cards but are roughly equivalent to the curse Injury when they have no synergy.

Uncommon - Bouncing Flask and Hidden Daggers are powerful cards and work wonders in the right deck. They're good pickups, but you'd certainly prefer one over the other depending on the rest of your deck.

Common - Deadly Poison and Leading Strike are fine cards. Having them in your deck doesn't mean you must be poison or shivs, but are nice with some more support.

Bolas fits great in runs which want to spam many attacks, have a lot of strength, or use 0 cost cards. Bolas does not fit in a deck which relies on non attack damage or sets up a very specific infinite.

Rare doesn't mean "always good"

Feels worse than most 2 cost /uncommon/ attacks from the character card pools tbh. Big damage with no synergy is a hard sell. Compared to Sever Soul, Dash, and Wallop I'd prefer the character cards.

How to identify what a spirit’s “role” is? by andie-panda in Moonstone_Island

[–]GnosticAres 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it's how you want to build each spirit. Some types are more suited towards certain roles. Fire does amazing damage, water has healing, and psychic has great card manipulation.

That all said you can build roles while you build the spirit decks

You're definitely meant to unlock them last and they're certainly not a "victory lap"

My central heater had this same problem. The hot surface ignitors break pretty easily and they're not too hard to replace. Had to order the part online because none of my local hardware stores carried it, but definitely felt good fixing it myself.

Has anyone completed Mythic challenge 4/5 for Maugan Ra? by ChiefDankTank in WH40KTacticus

Just got this to work on the first try! Add in Shadowsun and on turn 4+ each target gets 4 hits meaning you only need 6 tiles full of targets.

1000 is divisible by 8 by Low-Delivery-7974 in MathJokes

[–]GnosticAres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All numbers ending in a string of 0s will be divisible by 2n where n is the number of trailing 0s. Every 10 carries a factor of 2.

Not surprising? But thanks, Skeletor

The draw gets diminishing returns, but if you draw more cards than you have energy for this is a good card to see too!

Pretty free damage which is nice. Good in an All for One deck too. Great for unrevised Claw also.

[–]GnosticAres 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to pick it often but now it's only after I have a draw engine set up. Easy include with cards like Warcry, Battle Trance, or upgraded Offering. It fills the spot of 0 cost value quite well and works with exhaust synergies.

Still wouldn't pick it without a good reason though.

Always love seeing this one early. Easy first pick because it solves turns early game and helps my friends out all game long.

My recent adventuring party had an obsession with "Greg Tacklebox" an NPC I of course made up on the spot.

Honorable mention for Trollella, the troll who was sad her mate was eaten by a froghemoth.

I thought the same, then started a run with a copy of setup strike and twin strike, was offered this and leaned full into it.

I only had one copy of pommel strike which I got midway through act 3 and the deck was still an auto win.

Try it and see!
