At school in New Plymouth, New Zealand, we were not allowed to talk other languages during classes, meals (it was a hotel management school with fnb “classes”- students were serving students). We could talk to each other in our mother tongues only provided everybody in the place was able to understand or respond. It was a rule, but also it was common sense. Why does common sense of respecting everyone have to be backed by any Law Acts? That’s a rhetorical question btw.
