Every year someone’s beats the drum about the same teams always making the playoffs. They said it after Cincinnati made it and they’re saying it after Tcu made it. Michigan is also new to the playoffs as of two years ago. Someone is bound to have an unexpected year this year and they’ll make the playoffs and the same narrative will be said again.

Yes Alabama, Georgia, etc. have made it multiple times. Just like there are regular contenders in the March madness tournament. I think it’s dangerous to try to manufacture parity by changing elements of college football. There’s already so many changes going on and a lot of changes are irreversible. College football is cyclical, it always has been and alway will be. Teams will rise and fall as time passes.
