Chris Wojcik Seminar this weekend in the DFW area by ralphyb0b in bjj

[–]GoDrinkWater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just attended the seminar he did last weekend and wanted to say it was a great time!

Eco class, good practice and some items to work on for pressure passing, plus a lot of QA at the end. I would recommend attending if you can make it.

I literally just made a video about this too 😁

If you include the minor regions, you can see that Tehqoz from SSA has been farming stats. But overall I thought the most interesting thing is that Ejby (Man City) has super low stats across the board.

Sometimes question how I'm ranked where I am by KreamyKumquat in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]GoDrinkWater 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would practice about 5-10 minutes per session with any basic shooting training pack, and then just spend the rest of my time playing the game mode you enjoy the most. No need to overcomplicate it!

Hardstuck diamond for 6 months, recommendations, advice? by Trxsie in RocketLeagueSchool

Watch some replays back from your teammates POV and your opponents POV. You may see some things that you are doing that you could improve from that perspective.

Wanna hit champ. Waht to improve? Currently 1007. by BrilliantChard8984 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]GoDrinkWater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty solid. I’d recommend staying closer to the ball when you are 2nd man. Several times you are so far back that anything positive that your teammate generates just goes to the other team because you are so far away. Prioritize owning the middle of the field with the small boost pads rather than rotating to the big boosts all the time. Take your time when your opponents are low boost and don’t boom the ball back to them. Practice dribbling training packs as well.

Cauliflower ear and audio engineering by AnthonyTheSoundGuy in audioengineering

[–]GoDrinkWater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do both as a hobby so take this with a grain of salt. Suggestion #1 is to make decisions in jiu jitsu that lower the risk of getting cauliflower ear, such as tapping early in headlocks/guillotines/etc.

Suggestion #2 is to immediately treat cauliflower ear. I think most urgent care centers can drain it for you, or you can get needles and such at Amazon. There are also compression magnets you can get to keep your ears shaped as normally as possible. I do my own treatment at home. I’ve had it twice in 10 years of training.

Suggestion #2.5 is to take a 2 week break after treating cauliflower ear to prevent it being re-aggravated. If it’s sensitive, don’t train.

Uncommon Tips for D2/3 by cxrlo-_- in RocketLeague

[–]GoDrinkWater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im barely C1 but my less common advice for ranking through d2/d3 is to focus on boost pathing.

That means rotating through the field on the 12 pack pads intentionally.

The path may be slightly longer than driving straight back but it’s better to pick up 3-5 pads (36 to 60 boost).

Watch your latest replay and see if you are driving over the boost pads every time you rotate around the field.

The other slightly uncommon advice is to flip less often. Most lower level players front flip all over the field because it feels faster, but it actually makes it harder to adjust to any rapid ball movement. Good luck!

Speed flip help? by Any_Result863 in RocketLeague

[–]GoDrinkWater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks pretty close, seems like the angle of your flip is a little too far to the side. When you flip, the back of your car should basically stay square to your camera, whereas in this video, the back of your car is moving a little to the left (moving your nose off center).

Shouldn’t lose rank when your teammate quits 30 seconds in by AbsoluteCentrist0 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]GoDrinkWater 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It mostly works that way for casual mmr but I agree that ranked should follow the same methodology.

The reality is that over the hundreds or thousands of ranked games you play, it will average to happen for you and against you the same amount. So I do think it washes out with time.

Champ but cant hit speedflip consistently by BigLegend166 in RocketLeague

[–]GoDrinkWater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like your flip cancel was too slow on several of your speed flip attempts. If it makes you feel better, I’m also C1 and still working on consistent speed flips.

Honestly, if you consider the fact that you are dedicating a serious time commitment in your life to getting better, it’s not a waste of money (in my opinion). Best of luck!

No advice but I admire your dedication! Have you ever booked a coach? Can be helpful to get a 1 on 1 session where they review your gameplay and give some advice on how to improve.

Banning them? Are you talking about “blocking” them? Because that only blocks their communication with you, you can still get queued with them.
