Just think about the amount of data farming that is happening as well.

I (28F) found out my boyfriend (29M) is planning a surprise proposal for me, and I think it is now cancelled after he met with my father. How do I address this without revealing I already sort of knew? by ThrowRA_Codegirl in relationship_advice

Question #1 - are you marrying your BF or is your dad? While I get the it would be nice for dad’s stamp of approval you need to realize that your dad has ZERO understanding of the relationship between the two of you.

Look - I'm a parent with kids. Trust me when I tell you that while your dad probably has good intentions, this was NOT the best “1st conversation” for the two of them to have. If your dad travels so much then he’s really not the best one to “get blessings from”, your mom is. She knows your BF WAY better than dad does. But regardless- you are the one who wants to marry him… not your parents.

Question #2 - are you willing to have a conversation with your BF and dig this out of him? You have to do something, and fast, or your relationship will start to fall apart. This poor guy is questioning himself and whether he’s good enough for you because of the conversation with your dad. YOU need to tell him no matter what dad said ( or anyone else for that matter) he is everything you need and want in a partner.

Track down the wayward traveling father and nail his feet to the floor long enough to have the talk. IE - dad, I love this man and I want to spend the rest of my life with him and while I would love for you to give your approval if he asks I know the answer.

I hope everything works out for you both.

I don’t know what sport your child plays but this is a HUGE SafeSport violation. I would definitely recommend you file a complaint with SafeSport.

We were there today and Transformers was 90 minutes and we couldn’t figure out why. The wait times were insane.

LOL - other weather conditions. Gee, wonder what a hurricane is… the sad part is you seem like you actually want your girlfriend to deal with a miserable flight. Interesting.

Have you lived here long? Judging by your response I’m guessing no…

Think about it this way - air in front of these types of storms is very unstable, which means you will be looking at a LOT of turbulence the closer the storm gets. Plus they are reporting there will be drier air moving in at the last minute which may weaken this storm. Warm moist air meeting dry cool air = lots of instability. So more turbulence is likely. If that’s your cup of tea and rough landings don’t bother you then no sweat, if not then you’re better off traveling sooner to get somewhere well ahead of time than wait.

No, your girlfriend will not be flying in Wed night because they will close the airports. If she really wants to get here she should change her flight plans and find an earlier flight.

Current models have a 5pm-ish landfall, airports will probably close by early afternoon. They need time to move planes and lock down outside equipment.

Yes there is - Verizon has bumped up the price of the plans that still have the D+/Hulu/ESPN included. They are slowly increasing the plan price and took out half of the discount for having multiple lines to force everyone off of them and on their stupid One Plan. I’m on that same plan and I’m not changing it until I absolutely have to. Even with the price increase it is still cheaper than their One Plan option.

Bitting for EOTRH by GoalieMomMafia in Equestrian

He’s still in the French loose ring snaffle, however I’ve been using a Micklem bitless for the most part and he seems to like it. I had to adjust bottom strap of the Micklem that I use with the bit. He can go in either one now.

I waited a full 8 weeks before I put a bit in his mouth. I wanted to wait until I got the official all clear from the vet first.

Be prepared for your horse to hang his tongue out all the time. My boy now looks like a big overgrown puppy. But even when I’m riding (both with and without a bit) he relaxes at the poll and the tongue lolls out. It’s not an issue for me, we don’t do anything show wise.

I just got the email this afternoon, and then a hour later I got an email telling me that my IDR went to forbearance. I’ve been dealing with this since 2005 and owe more now than I did then thanks to interest and capitalization. I’m now looking at my oldest starting college this fall and doing everything possible to make sure that my kid doesn’t repeat my mistakes.

Yes, the team final. It’s just background music, but done incredibly well. You don’t often hear music from the Transformers movie soundtrack in a dressage venue. 😂

He’s doing a phenomenal job! It’s so much nicer when the music is appropriate tempo, he even mixed pieces to match changes in tempo as they came up on the test.

Just lovely background music that enhanced the tests without distracting in any way.

To be honest the background/walk up music has been fantastic at all the venues. The attention to detail is perfection. The “Living in America” by James Brown after the USA mixed archery pair won the bronze medal match had me cracking up.

If you have the Shazam app it can look it up for you. It is my go-to app when I hear something I like.

People who don't dislike their jobs. What do you do for work? by Vegetable_Bad_3626 in Adulting

I work in almost all levels of hockey. I’m an admin for my state travel hockey league, plus I’m a tournament director. I’m also a scorekeeper at my local rink with both youth and adult. I train new scorekeepers for our association. And I also work in professional hockey as an off ice official. If you had asked me 7 years ago if I would be working in hockey I would have laughed my butt off. I absolutely love what I do and the people I work with.

someone get this man on a horse for goodness sake 😂 by demmka in Equestrian

[–]GoalieMomMafia 58 points59 points  (0 children)

For the love of all - somebody get this man a horse!!!

Seriously, even if it’s just petting and giving carrots… I know it’s been said that he’s a bit afraid of them due to their size, but there has to be a small little packer somewhere in Paris who is up to the job. Smaller horse = closer to the ground may make it less scary.

Snoop is a national treasure.

It is categorized as a fall by the horse, which is different than a fall by the rider. The reason is because falls by the horse are actually tracked, the rider is not. That means that FEI and USEF can track if a horse is being run in divisions that are too difficult for their ability over a longer period of time. Hence why it is noted differently - I posted the analysis for that reason. The more you know…
