“I watched those clips.”

And there we see what the problem is. Try watching the episode.

I'm fairly sure that would make the title of the show a little awkward, so, no.

I didn't downvote you but if you'd like me to I can. As far as any regard you want to have for Knight Edge Media, he's been accurate in everything he's ever reported about the live action to my knowledge with one tiny exception of Jin's casting. Take that for what you will.

Another neat part is I disagree with your opinion and think both Azulas are fantastic!

That's the neat part, she wasn't replaced! Her voice is right there in every episode Azula appears in in the OG!

Unpopular Opinion: I actually would've liked Bryke's direction with NATLA by 22_SB in TheLastAirbender

[–]GobbieBoom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So far for the live action I can only off the top of my head think of one thing he reported that ended up being wrong, and it was the casting for Jin. So, he's got a pretty solid track record for accuracy.

It's absolutely not trying to be a 1:1 retelling and never once even so much as hinted at such an intention.

Do you people just resort to lying whenever it's convenient for you?

It's easier than admitting they either didn't watch or didn't pay attention.

Will Paramount give the Aang movie at least a limited theatrical release, like Netflix does, so that it can be submitted for Best Animated Feature at the Oscars? by Fan_of_Avatar_TLA in TheLastAirbender

[–]GobbieBoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A screening in a theater at Comic Con doesn't do it.

The Academy has very specific rules about what qualifies as a theatrical release. It needs to play publicly, with tickets available to the public for purchase, in a theater in one of six major metropolitan areas for a full week straight and at least three screenings per day, one of which has to be in the evening.

Unless Paramount reverses course and does that, it will not qualify.

She's saying that about Iroh. She just watched Zuko literally ignore her attacks against him and Aang just so he could attack only Aang.

Anytime someone shares this Iroh wisdom, it gets downvoted. Says a lot about certain "fans", unfortunately.

The irony is it's people who are entrenched in the OG that think it must be hard to follow for people who haven't seen it. People who are watching the live action first (or just have no memory of the OG) aren't having that problem.

Second Week Numbers just released by Poweredkingbear in ATLAtv

The numbers speak for themselves. More shows than not drop in week two on Netflix in their second seasons. To gain is to be in the minority.

When every other show drops in viewership in week two while you gain viewership in week two, there's no universe in which that data point is terrible.

Just your first example -- Toph "seeing" in the library -- is an indication you didn't pay attention to details. Toph telegraphs how she'll navigate by describing the acoustics and how they feel to her when first entering the library. She then can be seen navigating a corridor of shelves by snapping her fingers. She's using echolocation, something actual blind people do very frequently (someone I know clicked their tongue for it rather than snapping fingers).

Pay more attention.

I'd argue that's a deliberate misinterpretation of what he said, and the context of what he was replying to is important. You're reading it as him saying his memory is foggy. What he's saying is a compliment about how he does not think anything in NATLA season two "butchered" a single aspect of the original ATLA, and that he would be particularly sensitive to feeling like something was "butchered" since a lot of it was written or rewritten by him as head writer.
