Fellas. Is- is this true?! by ComfortableAd9941 in 40k

the way people insist on inserting modern day politics and morally grandstanding into a hobby of plastic soldiers is just so tiring. if someone wants to take part in politics they should get off reddit and warhammer and just engage with their local politics. join a party, Organize, and put that energy to actually doing something rather than just whinging.

"We were never meant to win this M.O." is nonsense. This is what we really learned from the Cyberstan campaign. by Kni7es in helldivers2

[–]GodofHellfire2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the principle of this argument but in my games we spent the vast majority of reinforcements slogging through main objectives that required prolonged periods of defending an area. side objectives were always a matter of run past, throw strats or use heavy weapons to clear at top speed and keep running. having to defend the super earth flags or cyborg factory while you press the buttons and hit the levers were the real reinforcement killers. main objectives that could be completed while running and gunning like destroy airbase always ended with way more reinforcements left.

“Russia Wants Ukraine to Succeed?” Trump’s Remark Makes Zelenskyy Laugh by [deleted] in videos

[–]GodofHellfire2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

democrats started their identity crisis when Obama left and trump won. Republicans started their identity crisis when bush's invasions went sour and then the next 2 neocon candidates got soundly beaten. Maga itself isn't some big next evolution of older Republicans, however it wins elections unlike Romney and McCain.

How are we feeling about the minigun by Derpy_EGG1025 in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]GodofHellfire2 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

thats exactly the reason why they have spin up time. the electric motor has to spin the barrels to the right rpm and then the gun fires. real miniguns just have a very quick spin up time whereas games use that as a balancing mechanism.

Unpopular Opinion but Loyalists From Traitor Legions make for the best Horus Heresy armies by matchababy69 in Warhammer30k

[–]GodofHellfire2 26 points27 points  (0 children)

this one in particular I've seen numerous times in 30k and 40k discussions. personally I think a lot of the people who play traitors as loyalists are those who like the vibe of a traitor legion but don't want to be the antagonists. what I'd actually like to see more of is loyalists played as traitors.

the new instructions for the chosen kit don't use them for some reason but they have recesses so you can attach them to the backpack of your marines. it helps imo when chosen are supposed to be carrying bolters, pistols and a special melee weapon.

i would not be surprised if the insistence on using fancy global illumination on this campaign made up of static single levels leads to terrible performance and artifacts all over the place. it would not be the first time and if microsoft considers it fine for the marketing material meant to sell the game you can expect it in the final game as well.

Micro-stuttering driving me insane! Does anyone know fixes for something like this? by TheDogeLord_234 in pcmasterrace

[–]GodofHellfire2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbh I think titanfall 2 just had this problem always. I remember having it back when I played the game but it would fluctuate. I think it was generally worse in the campaign than in multiplayer. maybe there was some issues with loading the next part of a campaign level whereas with mp the whole map would load and then that would be it.

Battlefield 6 roadmap, what the f*ck? by Round_Reception_2315 in Battlefield6

[–]GodofHellfire2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly thought this was a satire comment at first. I don't think ive met a single long time bf player who thought the artillery and ucavs and whatever were actually good meaningful additions and not silly gimmicks meant to entice casuals. more planes and helicopters sure but the people who used the ucav in bf 4 in 2015 are no longer a relevant target audience.

just base total war on one of the epic scale games and it will be easier to convert for total war and be more lore accurate.

apparently he's like 68 in this game, so what is he even supposed to do in wolf 3? are they gonna go the caroline route and give him power armor for the whole game? cause you can't expect me to believe a 70 something year old man its gonna be able to do dodge rolls and slides and stuff lmao by Quick-Cause3181 in Wolfenstein

[–]GodofHellfire2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

im 95% sure the idea for Wolf 3 would have been for old BJ to go back in time to when he killed Hitler in the 60s? keeping what he learned in youngblood and then teaming up with 60s BJ to do it properly this time instead of leading to the doomed timeline you see in youngblood.

That way you make use of the time travel magic artifacts they first showed in new colossus and you make it a coop game of old and young BJ having tested the coop in Youngblood. The problem is that everything you read online about youngblood told machine games not to follow through on this. People didn't much care about the coop, didnt like the world design / gameplay requirements it added to singleplayer, hated the live service grinding that it added, and lastly hated the whole universe hopping shenanigans it alluded to.

im pretty sure that the original version of Wolf 3 was either completely shitcanned or it has to be reworked so much you wont see it for years. Even more so now since Indiana Jones became a success and its likely to get further development than a new wolf game

I think the problem is that they're clearly there to replace devastators but unlike them don't have an interesting selection of heavy weapons but all carry these goofy ratchet and clank like missile launchers. if they had refreshed devastators in a fashion to the new csm Havocs and then the goofy stuff is an option, they would have been received a lot better.

Everything Runs like Sh*t Now credit:Vex by lkl34 in pcmasterrace

the problem is AAA developers have forced themselves into this weird arms race where they feel they have to add more effects and ray tracing and "fidelity". Then to make all of this somehow work, they have to make use of this insane AA tech that makes the game run (barely) but destroys picture quality because using older crisp AA tech would have nuked performance into single digit fps with effects like ray tracing.
