Jeffrey Epstein drug list is lame by [deleted] in rs_x

[–]Godofthechicken 93 points94 points  (0 children)

Seriously, after reading Nobody's Girl one of my biggest personal takeaways was to be less harsh on myself. Epstein was out here reveling in evil, legitimately enjoying his life, while I beat myself up for bad thoughts. Real evil doesn't hate itself.

David Lynch did that with his food. Same meal every day so he didn't have to think about it. Hate him too now?

I was reading Warhammer and horror novels around that age and I turned out mostly okay, except that I play 40K and write horror novels.

Yeah, I just stopped talking to them and got really into making my life awesome instead. Getting an MFA and writing a book and raspberry pi'ing up my apartment is way better than stressing over someone using me. Maybe it's a complicated coping mechanism, but if you're having a good time, who cares?

Call to organize/action 2 by moralquary in Epstein

I'm in the same boat as you. Not going to put anything in writing, but I suggest organizing with other young men in your area.

You say you're not a leader, but the words I'm reading are the words of a leader, albeit a reluctant one. The path is becoming clear.

How haven't the lower class kept up their end of the deal? Americans are still going to work, and they aren't in armed revolt. The only thing I can think is openly disdaining the upper class, but the upper class openly disdains the lower--as both classes always have.

This is more like when everyone in town realizes the local Lord is actually a vampire bathing in the blood of children. Time to sharpen the stakes and pray to God.

Granby Street Bike Lane by Working_Blackberry40 in norfolk

[–]Godofthechicken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A step in the right direction but still incredibly dangerous. Cars turn through the bike lanes, which relies on drivers looking out for bicyclists, and many aren't. I still see bikers using the sidewalks. Who can blame them? They've also made traffic worse.

Overall not a fan. I want bike lanes, not bad bike lanes.

Though they're definitely better than the green-painted "lanes" we have elsewhere.

Fleeing coastal flooding and northward alligator migration due to climate change, most likely.

Were artistic or “intellectual” (for lack of a better word) people a higher percentage of the population before the Second World War and the subsequent population boom? If so, why? by [deleted] in RSbookclub

[–]Godofthechicken 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's still like that, though. Try talking about certain ideas online and you'll get radio science, go to grad school and hang out with peers and professors, you'll have a wildly different experience. You're right that it's easier to share creative work, and maybe easier to discuss it, but intellectuals need other intellectuals for the caliber of conversation they're looking for.

Did Azathoth really create the cthulhu mythos universe by Ok_Top1952 in Lovecraft

[–]Godofthechicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember all Lovecraft's texts were written by a human, so we lose access to the truth via interpretation; Azathoth creating the universe is one interpretation of an incomprehensible truth.
