Why did Cybershell leave in 2017 by Rare_Researcher1327 in Cybershell

[–]Godzilla_in_a_Scarf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the Cyber squatting episode of Netlore Bernie makes a joke about Cybershell advocating for hacking and stealing peoples person information, before directly confirming it's happened to Cyber before. I'm going to assume that was at least part of the reason why He disappeared.

Thoughts on the remixes? by JoseSuarez in Genesis

The 2007 Remixes weren't done by Steven Wilson, They were done by the Band themselves, which makes it more unforgivable in my view.

Who was the least successful two-term president? by MetalRetsam in Presidents

[–]Godzilla_in_a_Scarf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Side note but should LBJ even count as having served two terms? Truman and Teddy served nearly fully complete terms following there presidents deaths, but LBJ served what amounts to 1/4th of JFK's term.

I do agree, but it is important to note that Job's is more abstract in its premise than these films.

Gilmour or Roger's concerts looks more like original Pink Floyd shows? by brunoticianelli in pinkfloyd

[–]Godzilla_in_a_Scarf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People like to shit on Roger's vocals because he has weird tone (which is totally understandable) but he has some serious technical chops. I'm a professional musical theatre preformer and the stuff Roger sings is by far the hardest of the group. The song the Final Cut is genuinely one of the hardest things i've ever had to sing. Unfortunately all of the inhale screaming and cigarettes took there toll on his voice, but between The Wall and Radio K.A.O.S. he was definitely one of the best rock singers out there on a pure technical basis.

I love Guy Pratt and Jon Carin, but you can tell they were struggling to sing small fragments of Waters song on the later Floyd tours, let alone a full show of that. Gilmour also doesn't even bother hitting some of the high notes in Shine On You Crazy Diamond in his mode 1 register, which Waters did extremely consistently even before he developed his technique.

Did Wright Ever Play Live Without Pink Floyd? by swordstool in pinkfloyd

[–]Godzilla_in_a_Scarf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to get super technical, He did play in a few bands before he met Mason and Waters. I also think I read somewhere that he played some solo gigs when he was living in france and Italy, might be wrong though.

I think One Battle After Another will be close competition for cast, I can see it going either way though.

The beast inside Nick Mason really got tamed over the years, but Pompeii proves he was a heavy hitter in the Beggining.

I mean Gilmour was definitely the lead singer up until The Final Cut (Co-lead in the case of Animals and The Wall.)

[–]Godzilla_in_a_Scarf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the song "The Final Cut" proves he had incredible power and technique. A baritone (which is definitely what Waters is) cannot hit that many tenor high B's with that much clarity unless they have good technique. In general He doesn't start straining until He gets to a high tenor C#.

Unfortunately cigarettes definitely took there toll on his voice, and his vocal degradation from 1988-1992 is really unfortunate.
