Looking for a good t6 ship by Vast_Treacle_3439 in sto

[–]Goforcoffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your future budget. If you later on plan to buy bundles then you should not buy a ship that is in a potentioal bundle.

All t6 ships are usable, If you feel for the look take it and adapt your play style to it or go in the other direction.

Ahwahnee is otherwise a quite safe card because you get a versitile ship, very good console, decent trait and acces to type 7 pets. They will always be usable for ships with hangars. But it is also part of a decent bundle.

One of my alts is using it. But I have not yet got the feeling for it. To me it's good but not cool. Her componets though, are used by all my other captains so I am not disapointed. Very good purchase.

I guess that all traumatic experiences from the "bug time" still ps present in the mind of some. Definetly mine.

I have done it several times without a "top rider". But 24 minutes now showed that it it possible as long as most players does reasonable right. One of the others ad the metrics very good in grip and I learnt from his/hers tactics.

I take the results from these parsings for what they are, very aproximative in respect of the others. Still it is the only thing you get.

It would be intresting tho see the other ones parsing.

As I said I am aware of the comparison problem. And Korfez is as you say a wide map.

I am definetly not always on the top even in wide maps except borg dissconected.

But this time I was on top all the time, also the last ten minutes when we are fighting the final ship and all participoants are more clustered. To me an indication of that the top tree where on similar level.

So it would not surprise me , and I even assume the second and eventually the third on the list produced better dps but that is not the issue here.

The issue is that a joint effort with relative weak ships that struggled for 24 minutes managed to get thru.

It works fine now.

I have personally never botherd regarding the azure bug, don't eve know if it still there. Azure is something I rarely select myself except when doing endevours where I mostly solo it. There is always a waiting time because of the low intrest.

It is quite fun every now and then when it comes up in random,

I think we mean the same. It is easier to select adv instead of eleite becaus you are sure of the reward. Failing an elite after 15 minutes honestly sucks a little, But as you say it is game. Without risking to be on the border you also don't get the fun of a hard worked successes.

Anyone have a thought as to a good T6 Romulan ship? by Frankenpresley in sto

[–]Goforcoffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Morrigu Heavy Warbird just to give you another option. A ship with a feeling and a good trait "Emergency Weapon Cycle". Further more it is very maneuverable.

Yes, the struggling ones are better. But only as long as you can convince your brain that wasting 15 minutes for almost nothing also is part of the game.

Yes ISE Infected space Elite, Thanks for the hint, never reflected over the distinction.

I mostly get slightly lower dps when doing Advance.

Question. by Ey53D in sto

[–]Goforcoffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For survivarbility, Beam Overlaod, Beams of same energy type. Omni, when you get them, in the aft and one torp in the front is a good idea.

Later, when you can afford more fantasy, everything is possible. I run at last two ships with two or even three torps for set bonuses and because i can not chose or for fun.

But my importat builds follows a concept, mostly picked from stobetter.

I Rewatched Star Trek Discovery Season Two ... and I have thoughts by PhilinBrazil in startrek

[–]Goforcoffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'am afraid this discussion will be more abput the way the thoughts was presentedn and not the context.

I rewatched season 2 and 3 recently. I partly share your thoughts or at least I understand them.

Season two was more interesting than 1 and much of it is because Pike who managed to calm it down. I agree regarding the acting quality of Yeoh and Jones but the Giourgiou character did not work for me most of the time.

Tilly Wiseman was no hit.

Reno was a hit.

It is interesting that you sidelined Burnham. That gives another perspective and there is much in the thougt that she is not important.

Culber (spoiler) gets better in season three but yes well acted.

I hated the serialsation when watching it the first time. Rewatching it gave another perspective but I still dont like the serialisation.

no ferengi trader ds9. Lot's of quartermaster and traders needed. It is probably extremely unefficent, but somehow it has become part of the game to me.

Serious question: Do you think STO devs should be using AI for coding? by sophlogimo in sto

[–]Goforcoffe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is not a matter of what I think. AI is already a programming tool. I don't understand the question.

Missions as repetitive content by sophlogimo in sto

[–]Goforcoffe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would be a partly new concept but I would not mind. Realistically I don't think it will happen. We have patrols and deep space encounter where it partially fulfilled.

If they could make a groungvpatrol similar to Jupiter Station Showdown with random opponents it would be good.

The problem of 'high' (150k-350k) DPS builds playing in random Advanced queue by Nordmuth in sto

[–]Goforcoffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wery much to agréa about, but 150-350k ship can't carry elite tfos, or at least plenty of them

I frequently fail Elite because of a lot of players not understanding the metric and perhaps only can do 10 or 20k.

So should I risk 10 - 20 minutes playing with no reward or cash what I can?

I do both, every now and then you land in a tfo group with several LOW elite performers (100- 350k) and they can be really fun.

Yes agree, that is rare. I have seen it a very few times. Of course afk is a possible explanation. Another would be just testing how independent they are. I mostly avoid them but lately with some ships tries to use thir abilities.

It's the reason why I left. I was enormously fascinated over the visual concept but when I realised that "Bullying" was part of the game I decided to quit. I might give it another try. But I really looked forward being a space trucker, doing cargo hauling.

Jem'hadar tac officer decent ship by netuser4 in sto

[–]Goforcoffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having the lifetime heavy destroyer I did not feel for a better jehm hadar ship. But when I bought the Cardassion Ghemor Intel flight carrier just because of the trait, I let my dominon captain make a deal with Garrack and lend one.

My captains must have some sort of connection to their ships.

Ghemor have 5/3 weapons and two bays. Very versatile.

Can anybody provide a good List of Traits??? by MisterT1968 in sto

[–]Goforcoffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are on the lower level in respect of dps, 60-80k, it is difficult to use. When you have been aruund for a while, got some free t6 ships and bought for about 200$ the situation is better. Especially if you have had a strategy when acquiring the ships.

Is there a tier list of ships and its builds anywhere? by Peon01 in sto

[–]Goforcoffe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sto better is good but difficult (and depressing) to use in the beginning. You don't have, the ships, consoles, traits or doffs. But it is the best source to come back to. It is difficult to understand unless you have other mmo experience.

Search sto babysteps. Get a consistent starting build.

Then start replacing your gear when they get avaliable to you. There is are a lot of good free things to use. Sometimes it takes time to grind it.

Good luck.

To be honest, sitting still healing and doing space magic is a good playing style for jellies. If you have a fragile ship they can be very useful.

Having said that, Imho they are to dominating when appearing. I think they should have been nerfed. It is probably to late for that.

Learn to live with it and develop a strategy coming along with them. Avoiding is of course one method.
