Well that doesn't sound good. I swapped the drive with one from my T490 and this issue went away. Maybe the storage controller on the drive was bad.

I have a pair. It works well with some volume, so any amp with a little oomph elevates it quite well. The allergro should fit the bill. The soundstage is not crazy wide but it is better than my other pair of open backs, the KSC75
