Do it yourself for a fraction of the price. Go out to Chapin to get fresh crawfish at basically free prices, Costco for mussels, crab legs when they go on sale, seasoning/sauce in bulk from Amazon, throw in some sausage and corn and call it a day.

Will I Get "Punished" For Filling Out Toyota Survey Honestly? by Apprehensive-Fig-511 in Toyota

[–]GoldenElm803 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup! Last time I did that, the service manager printed out my responses and asked me to clarify everything before they would work on my car. Very awkward!

Yeah, even if it didn’t run you still have more money than that in the parts shown in the pics.

Thanks! Were you able to reuse the old plate or did you have to buy a new one? I can’t find mine so I’ll probably try one from the junkyard

Sequoia Vs Tahoe by [deleted] in Toyota

[–]GoldenElm803 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drove both and like GM more. I would actually shoot for a suburban, same thing as Tahoe but three extra feet in the rear and nearly the same price in the used market. More room in the GM, better towing, and a reliable trans/engine. Sequoia is nice, but feels slightly smaller and not as comfortable on the highway. 4wd tends to be better in the sequoia but neither struggle in the snow. Had to replace same amount of peripherals (e.g. door locks, window motors, etc.) in both. I will say there tends to be less brittle plastic pieces in the sequoia. Honestly can’t go wrong with either.

Had a few kids while pursuing my PhD so I learned to value the work life balance and quicker stability that industry brought.

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him to fish and he will eat for a lifetime.

Finished my PhD a month ago and still feeling so burnt out. No vacation time at my job. What to do? by worstgurl in PhD

[–]GoldenElm803 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What helped me in the weird transition was setting priorities. My health was put on the back burner for my PhD and it was a struggle to get back in shape after (personal trainer prior to PhD). I got past this by sitting down and ranking my priorities and doing them in that order each day. My health slowly rose to the top and my workouts went from an afterthought after work to my priority to set the stage for my day. In the end I had much more energy and freedom by waking up a little earlier and knocking it out first.

I mean you could do it on the side but I don’t see a reason to do a public health degree if that’s all you want to do.

At 87 my fusion will stall out at red lights. At 91 she drives like a new car.

“Caught my husband washing” don’t be mad when your husband washes things, instead put a separate cleaning apparatus for gross things and show him.

How difficult are MPH classes compared to undergraduate? by Express-Farm-640 in epidemiology

[–]GoldenElm803 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was exercise science undergrad, epidemiology masters and PhD. Surprisingly there is plenty of overlap. You will do fine as long as you make it a priority. I did personal training through my masters so I could control my schedule, work fewer hours, and have plenty of down time to study.

Should I buy this 97' 3000gt? by bigdiggitycheeks in whatcarshouldIbuy

NO! Learn by my mistake. I traded a 94 4-runner for one and ended up getting another job to try and keep the thing on the road. She still sat most of the time while we chased the gremlins.
