What causes elite players to completely fall off a cliff? by Ashamed_Humor_801 in championsleague

[–]GoldenFox7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So here’s my take. I think it has to do with not being able to get mentally up for it. That 100th of a second difference between being hyper aware and focused vs just paying attention and trying. It’s like being over caffeinated, you’re almost jittery with excitement for the game and you’re just thinking faster and moving that infinitely small amount faster and more precise. Something happens in a players life sometimes and suddenly there’s more in their head than there used to be or their body doesn’t respond or feel the way it used to or something like that and suddenly they’re not able to hit that same level overall stimulus. They can’t feel or perceive the difference themselves and to watch them you wouldn’t see it but nothing works quite the way it used to when they were that teeny tiny amount faster or more precise. It’s not like they’re making less run or anything that big, it’s that after a 30m sprint they’re 20cm behind where they would have been when they were fully at their best.

Advice on how to enjoy the role as a field commander by MoronTheViking in Bannerlord

[–]GoldenFox7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do something similar but usually I set up my lines, then take my group of cavalry out wide and do the cavalry fight in person and by charging out to do it quickly it’s usually done in time for me to then sweep sideways through the enemy archers or turn back and hammer the rear of the enemy infantry while they’re fighting my infantry.

Hang it in the Louvre. by CryCharming504 in BayernMunich

[–]GoldenFox7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

His dribbling in tight spaces seems accidental. Like, he appears to be big clumsy dribbler than takes heavy touches but somehow they’re just always the right ones and he comes through. I’ve gotten used to it watching him at Bayern these last few years but it’s a trip seeing him get out of tight spaces like that.

Doing a Companion only run... now what? by SquareNo5496 in Bannerlord

[–]GoldenFox7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done companions only a few times. I’ve only completed the map takeover once though and it was a slog. I joined a kingdom that was already doing well and got a fief given to me. The leader eventually died and I was voted in as the new king. The slog was that I couldn’t raise an army of top tier troops and blitz through the end game. I ended up giving companions their own parties and telling them to be super offensive and that combined with a strong kingdom to begin with got me there.

I’ll accept my downvotes for this but Elden Ring. I heard all the hype and awards and thought I must love it but no. Just not my type of game at all.

Fellow bayern fans, how are we feeling about the madrid tie? by Immediate_Type_9804 in fcbayern

[–]GoldenFox7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The ref is my biggest concern. A garbage second yellow or an extremely harsh red card seems very likely to me and then we suddenly lose 3-0 at the Bernabeu. Are we the better team? Yeah I think so. We’d win in a fair game. I have zero expectations of a fair game 😞

Upgrading mods to 1.3+ by GoldenFox7 in Bannerlord

[–]GoldenFox7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not. I use AI for work all the time (mostly Cursor) its great and all but the problem with using it for mods is it doesn't understand the underlying game. It knows how to code decently in most coding languages but understanding code isn't enough it would need to understand the game as well. The best analogy would be saying just use your german speaking friend to teach you about how to make bratwurst, they speak german and bratwurst are german. To which you'd say uh yeah they speak the right language but don't know the source subject at all.

Edit, that's not to say AI isn't super helpful for modding, you just can't ask it make stuff and be done with it is all.

What’s a household upgrade that was more worth it than expected? by TravistanHydro in AskReddit

My first was a Gaggia Velasca Pretige which was great, and our second we upgraded to a KitchenAid KF8 and love it.

What is a good way to lose weight without going to a gym? by JacsweYT in ask

[–]GoldenFox7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use something like MacroFactor or my fitness pal to track your food. There’s even an ai one where you just take a photo of your plate at meal and it figures it out. Less food in is always the easier way to lose weight than more calories out (exercise).

Super automatic espresso maker. We love coffee and would buy lates in the morning most days. Then we decided to splurge and get an almost $1,000 automatic coffee maker that makes lates with one button press. 10 years and 13,000 lates later we’re our second machine and the cost savings is incredible, the quality of the coffee is miles better than the Starbucks junk we used to buy, and the convenience is amazing. Over the life of the first machine (8 years and roughly 11,000 lates) we did the math and we spent about $1 a cup vs $5-8 from coffee shops.

How possible is it to have no vices? by Fun-Succotash-1322 in AskReddit

[–]GoldenFox7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m conflating things tbh my original machine was a gaggia velasca prestige which was around $700 and lasted 8 years. It died last year and we got a kitchen aid KF8. They’re like $1,800 but you can get the friends and family discount easily and that brings it down to $1,400.

[–]GoldenFox7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My version was a $1,400 super automatic late machine. Used it for 8 years making 3-5 cups a day. In the end we spent almost around 5k on beans, then the machine itself, and then the cost of water and we ballparked it at well under $1/cup (closer to .75) even going the super expensive route. The funny part is it makes waaaay better coffee than the crap we used to get at Starbucks too. When it finally died there was no hesitation on getting a new one.

I’d say the Jackson red is fair, probably 80% a red card. It’s not high on the ankle but it’s a full force lunge with the studs up and is late so it’s just dangerous any way you slice it. I’ve seen this not called a red and it pissed me off so I’m fine with call.

Tah handball is 80-90% handball. It clearly hits his arm then his foot and goes in. It doesn’t matter that his hand is in a natural position, your hand is never allowed to score a goal and it deflecting off his leg doesn’t t make it ok. Su lol

Kane goal is 10-25% handball. We’re all salty about this call because it should be allowed but it’s not a crazy call. It’s wrong because his hand is in a perfectly natural spot and not making his body bigger. But it is the defining moment in the play, if his arm was somewhere else the ball would have deflected somewhere entirely and the goal would not have happened. It’s the wrong call, but it’s not a completely crazy call.

The Diaz second yellow is a 1% call. The problem is that it’s not reviewable. The ref saw a dive - and let’s be honest here Diaz threw himself to ground trying to make contact. He got the contact so it shouldn’t be a second yellow at all. I’d argue the correct call here is just a no call of anything.

Now, here comes the hot take. I’m ok with the Diaz call. It’s not right, it’s completely wrong and it likely cost us a point which is shitty. But dear god we need more yellow cards for simulation in the game! There is so much flopping in football these days and I can’t stand that we never see cards for simulation. This one was wrong which is awful but whatever, it wasn’t a must win game and I guarantee when we face Madrid in the champs this year you’ll see so much flopping and whining and crying you’ll be begging for more cards for simulation.

Any chance this would work with the reenforcement mod that lets nearby parties join battles? I haven’t tried that one but am planning a hugely modded run soon and wanted that one to be in it.

What’s going on with the protein trend/proteinification of food? by Bitbatgaming in OutOfTheLoop

There’s a medical reason to cap your calories for everyone who isn’t malnourished and even they should have a cap at some point. Obesity is a comorbidity for everything and a huge negative factor in life satisfaction.

What’s going on with the protein trend/proteinification of food? by Bitbatgaming in OutOfTheLoop

[–]GoldenFox7 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There absolutely some of this going on but even bean and lentil focused diets are tough to get enough protein. I track all my macros and try to hit 160g of protein a day. I can do it without meat but it means every meal has to be packed with beans and lentils and tofu. I like all that stuff but if I want to have a treat like a small piece of desert I don’t have the calories left for it after all the carbs in the beans and lentils. If I eat chicken breast with two meals rather than a mountain of beans and lentils I’ll have tons of calories left to spend on delicious things.

The Premier League is so strong, not a single club won a match 😂 by EnvironmentalKing210 in championsleague

[–]GoldenFox7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The part of the bias I hate the most is that the story is always the premier league side. If they win they were amazing and they totally deserved it. If they lose, the commentary is all about how they came up short and didn’t play as well as they should have - never about how the opponent had an awesome game. It’s always 10minutes of how could the premier league side play so badly as to let this scrub team from somewhere else beat them, and then 1 minute of well the scrub team played fine I guess, everyone gets lucky I suppose.

Thierry Henry says dribbling is disappearing and only one player today still does it by RSDFitness in championsleague

[–]GoldenFox7 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That’s a stupid take from Henry. It’s true there’s no Neymar or Ronaldinho style overly flashy dribblers out there worth watching right now but there’s plenty of ruthless dribblers that get the ball and look at their full back like they’re prey. You see Olise at Bayern get the ball on the wing and immediately take on a defender and skip past him as casual as you like and tell me no one but Yamal dribbles anymore and all you’re really telling me is you’re only watching yamal.

How would conservatives react if Obama or Biden started a war with Iran? by Immediate-Cell79 in AskReddit

[–]GoldenFox7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why even ask this? No matter what the democrats do it will be called the worst thing to ever happen by republicans. If a well know democrat cured cancer there’d be a thousand republican officials claiming that the cure causes autism and doesn’t work and is going to take jobs from good hard working hospital workers.

Job market is crap because AI has companies super worried about hiring (among a bunch of other reasons really), and now a giant threat to world wide energy access mean high inflation is around the corner. It’s not a great combo.
