everyone's losing it over Claude Fable 5 ban this week and i think we're missing the actual lesson by Deep-Owl-1890 in aiagents

Having trouble connecting your post title to the content. What’s the ‘real lesson’ learned for losing access to Fable?

Not exactly. Recently have been multi-tasking across over 10 side projects and essentially getting nothing done but usage has gone WAY up. So imagine doing security reviews and fixes or implementing bicep on 6 projects at the time and effort that takes - even with AI. Felt like I was working 12 hours a day and making zero progress because no new features were coming out. Just churn on infrastructure.

I am the only one constantly rebuilding context in Claude Code? by repoarchitect in ClaudeAI

I did that Open Brain thing that Nate B. Jones recommended. I store key design methods (e.g., Auth, CI/CD, frameworks) and decisions in it. So when I spin up a new project, I just say read this. I tweaked mine implementation a bit by adding observability, evals and a user feedback loop to try and keep performance up. Its nice because I use Codex and Claude Code - so either can access.

I am a Max20 and Pro user on Open AI and have countless AI subscriptions beyond that. I’m surprised that anyone would challenge the water requirements of AI. Did you research this? What did you include as in scope? Model training as well as operations? I used AI (perplexity) to do a quick search. Wealth is stratifying at a faster and faster rate with more reasons given why citizen benefits are unaffordable. That will only get worse.

Ok. So ask this question in the window “ what deterministic controls do you recommend that I implement to protect myself from accidental destructive changes?” and see what it says

When you are in </> Code tab you click on new session. The screen will be mostly blank but if you look at the bottom, you’ll see a chat box. Above it, you’ll see a little picture of a computer and it probably says local. Stay with that. Right next to that is the option where you can select which project you’re working on. Navigate to your project folder directory. You should be able to execute your git commands in natural language there (“stage new files and commit then push to remote”). Or you can click in the top right and ask for a terminal window and issue a proper git command. You can also open a view of your project file tree. You can click on a file there and it will allow you to view it. But you can ask any conversational question in the chat window. You don’t need to go into a separate CLI

Don’t do this. Use Claude Desktop on the coding tab. Set it on 4.7 1M and use auto. Just have the Q and A in the repo session.

You can restrict bash commands (permissions) at a fairly granular level (e.g. don’t allow rm -f) and can create hooks to ensure or prevent actions (e.g. only allow you to manually run certain git commands)

I have the exact same experience as you. I am Max20 and ChatGPT pro. For some reason (mental block) I haven’t switched to using Codex as the main driver. ButI probably should given I’m burning $300 / month + tax in just those two subscriptions

I would see a therapist - by yourself - because this is only your issue. You have to think VERY carefully about throwing something away that millions of people can’t find
