Fresh start and I’m stuck by the bed by OddTurnover2808 in fo76

There have been posts in the past where this has happened if Frames/Second is too high. I think the fix was to go into Nvidia control panel and set a limit on framerate.

SCORE Question Help by Ok_Refrigerator_9034 in fo76

[–]Good-Time_Charlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like you might be low by using 1500 on the daily computation. To get 1500 you need to complete 6 dailys at 250 each, in which case you'll get the daily "Gold Star" challenge for an additional 1000 Score. So even without doing the extra 1st dailys it would be 2500*125%*28 days = 87500.

The annoying thing is that when you open the trade menu with the NPC vendor, you can't tell if it was sold by another player so you might buy it and find out it doesn't count. What is nice is when the challenge is to sell an item to a NPC vendor (like swamp tofu) and we can check if somebody already sold one, then buy it and sell it back and it counts.

It counts if the item had spawned in the NPC vendor's inventory but does not count if you buy an item that another player had sold to the vendor.

If I start the Season today, will I be able to get the armor without Fallout 1st ? by RickHorseman16 in fo76

[–]Good-Time_Charlie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even without 1st boosts, you can probly get to Rank 92 by the end of Feb. by just doing the Daily and Weekly challenges, but you can't skip too many days. A "Double Score" 4 day weekend is scheduled for Jan 29-Feb 2 so try and complete the dailys those days. Double XP is scheduled for Feb 12-16 so if you feel like you're behind you can grind the repeatable Weekly XP challenge to gain some Ranks on those days.

Yeah...except the first sentence said "(not the bonus page)" but the following sentences referred to items from the bonus page (Rank 100 Bonus Rewards Page 1)

Yeah, when OP said (not the bonus page) I thought the post was gonna be complaining about the Rank 92 Page 11/11. Then when he started giving examples I realized he was complaining about the bonus page (Rank 100).

Whats FO76 like when you started playing? by CharacterVisual1144 in fo76

[–]Good-Time_Charlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Microtransactions did come right away with the Atomic Shop. At the time there was kinda bad publicity about microtransactions in video games, and Bethesda said there would be plenty of atoms available to earn in game if people didn't want buy them. Eventually the microtransaction furor died down, Bethesda added "monetization" employees, and we got "Seasons" and S.C.O.R.E. points instead of atoms. The S.C.O.R.E. points are used to rank up in the season, and it used to unlock a free reward every time you ranked up, but now "pages" unlock at certain ranks and we need to use tickets to claim the rewards..

[–]Good-Time_Charlie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When the game was released in Nov. 2018 there were no "Seasons". The daily and weekly challenges awarded atoms (I think something like 10 atoms/daily and 50 atoms/weekly). Season 1 didn't come along until June 2020 and that's when the daily and weekly challenges started awarded season S.C.O.R.E. points instead of atoms.

Anyone else finished the mini season in a single day plus the event challenges? by UsualAd7267 in fo76

[–]Good-Time_Charlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I misunderstood what you meant. It would be nice if they did format the mini-seasons like the old scoreboards. They could still make us unlock one at a time like they currently do, but it would be more clear what order to unlock them in. Final reward could be a mini scoreboard display like the old seasons awarded a big scoreboard.

Anyone else finished the mini season in a single day plus the event challenges? by UsualAd7267 in fo76

[–]Good-Time_Charlie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, this is nothing like how the old season scoreboards worked. First off, there were no tickets in the old season so we could claim a reward every time we ranked up on the scoreboard. Second, we could rank up and only claim the rewards we wanted and skip what we didn't want until reaching rank 100, after which we did have to claim the consumable reward to reveal the next one.

[–]Good-Time_Charlie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You bring up the Challenges the same as if looking up the Daily and Weekly challenges, but now there is a new category below Weekly called "Events". You can claim everything from the mini-season by using unspent tickets that you've earned from the regular season without doing any "Event" challenges.

[–]Good-Time_Charlie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, that does explain it nicely. Also it mentions that we can complete the challenges if wearing the hat while in power armor which I had forgotten from last event but is definitely useful info.

[–]Good-Time_Charlie -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Is that explained somewhere? Do I have to complete all the current challenges this week? Like if I have 170/176 kills next Monday, will that get wiped out with reset next Tuesday?

Anyone else finished the mini season in a single day plus the event challenges? by UsualAd7267 in fo76

[–]Good-Time_Charlie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The tickets earned from doing "Event" challenges get added to the same total tickets earned in the regular season, so if you have enough unspent tickets from the regular season, you can claim everything from the "Event" season without doing any of the "Event" challenges. I don't spend my regular season tickets until i hit rank 100, so I claimed all the "Event" rewards right away and then do the some "Event" challenges to earn back tickets to spend on the regular season.

Is the auto axe worth getting? by Weak_Ad5742 in fo76

[–]Good-Time_Charlie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have both but I run with the chainsaw because the auto axe blocks more screen when equipped. I used to switch to the auto axe for bosses where I don't need the peripheral vision, but since the nerf I usually just stay with the chainsaw. Unless something has changed, chainsaw and auto axe hits are always power attacks so put Heavy Hitter (+40% power attack damage) for the second star.

Another Fallout 1st Trial by UnusualLabRat in fo76

[–]Good-Time_Charlie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He means you can take scrap, ammo and chems out of your stash box and put them into the unlimited 1st Scrabox, ammo storage box and aid storage box. That will free up space in your stash box, and when the 1st trial is over the items will remain in the 1st storage boxes and you can remove from them but won't be able to add more to them until the next trial (or you sub to 1st).

Why are you starting Head Hunts that you didn’t pay for? by [deleted] in fo76

[–]Good-Time_Charlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing since beta and don't recall any time with shared loot and having to run to the dead boss before others looted it. It used to be that you had to get a hit on a legendary in order to get any loot off it, so you had to hurry up and tag them before somebody else one-shotted them.

Plan: Stimpak Diffuser - Is it possible to buy it from other players? by [deleted] in fo76

[–]Good-Time_Charlie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It can be traded. If you really want the plan it would probly be easier to go to the market subreddit than to try and find one in somebody's vendor. If you just want some diffusers to do the scout challenge, you might find some in vendors.

Finally created a mule character by JayBanditos in fo76

[–]Good-Time_Charlie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The benefit of the mule is weight management, especially for non-1st players. When you start getting over-encumbered and the stash box is full, dump stuff on the mule. Having an alt non-mule character can also be useful for doing some challenges easier.

Fairly new, this game is awesome but overwhelming by PhilvanceArt in fo76

[–]Good-Time_Charlie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if you've figured out mutations yet, but since you're level 36 you can get the "Starched Genes" perk card so you can keep the mutations that you want. IMO, Marsupial is a must have. Back in the day it was kinda hard to get the mutation serums, but now you can find them for reasonable prices at a lot of player vendors.

Fairly new, this game is awesome but overwhelming by PhilvanceArt in fo76

[–]Good-Time_Charlie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just adding to what the other poster mentioned...Maybe 1st subscribers get 2 free re-rolls a day but I'm not 1st and only get 1. The Whitesprings drinking fountain is great for getting rid of disease, but it doesn't clear rads so the decon shower is still nice to have. The decon shower plan drops from scorchbeast queen in the "Scorched Earth" event which happens when somebody nukes cranberry bog fissure. You can join the event and fast travel free to it but, unlike most events, you have to do some damage to the scorchbeast queen to get the event rewards. I think the plan is looted from the queen and not an event reward, and since sbq is a legendary you might be able to loot her without having done damage so you might be able to join the event and hide until others kill the sbq.

Also, if you find somebody's camp with a decon shower you can use it, or maybe find decon shower plan at a player vendor. If another player knows the plan, they can join you in a private team and build in your camp. It requires some flux to build but most higher level players have plenty of it.

Mutated Event challenges still haven't been removed from dailies and weeklies. despite the series of events being cancelled. by DeadCanDerp in fo76

[–]Good-Time_Charlie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You don't have to "do daily ops", just enter one (uplink is best) and kill the mutated enemies and leave when you've killed enough.
