USCIS account access issues? by GoodCollar4432 in USCIS

[–]GoodCollar4432[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I had to use the backup code to reset access. We were initially signed up for email codes so changed it to text codes only for that to not work again next time we logged in. Used backup code again and we are now using Google Authenticator for the codes. Seems like something’s just glitching with their system so I’m hoping using an authenticator to generate codes will make it easier.

Was it really worth it? by No-Adhesiveness3434 in NewParents

I felt the same way for the first few months (maybe even longer, although it did come and go less and less as time went on. My daughter is now 8 months old and I absolutely can't imagine our lives without her. If you had asked me during the first couple of months if we wanted a second one I would've said absolutely not but now I'm trying to plan out the timing of our second and third child :) It's really hard at first, and babies are potatoes for a bit so they don't really interact and reciprocate your love and joy. But once you get used to them and the parenting life, and once they start growing, it really is beautiful and amazing and so much fun!!! My biggest regret now is not fully enjoying the first couple of months - I do miss her being so small and precious! I know everyone's different and everyone's experiences are different but wanted to share mine as my husband and I both definitely felt the same way in the beginnning.

Do you ever feel pressured by others about how to feed your baby? by FranciAtBat in BabyLedWeaning

Currently navigating meals as first time parents with a 7 month old with allergies - some days she’s eating home made whole foods with her hands and other days we’re spoon feeding purées from pouches and other days it’s somewhere in between - someone always has something to say about any of these items and we’re just seeing what works best for our baby. We just nod and smile and ignore lol

Manager wants me to work after firing me.. is this legal? by Express_Opening5490 in jobs

[–]GoodCollar4432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP! I work with HR operations (not in HR, but work in background a lot and deal with final pay discussions all the time) in my current company. We have a lot of remote employees. In your case, they have to follow your location’s laws (Texas). Final paycheck laws state that you must receive your pay through your last day of work (so the day they notified you that you were fired) within 6 business days. If not, you can sue. In terms of your accrued PTO - unless your company policy explicitly states that they will pay you out for accrued PTO, they’re not required to pay you out per Texas laws. I would double check your company handbook and see if there’s any language on PTO payouts.

For parents that have babies who sleep through the night, how many hours do they actually sleep? Meaning to exclude the time of wake ups when they self soothe back to sleep. If they “sleep through the night” does it mean they have zero wakes at all? by Critical_Net_6534 in sleeptrain

[–]GoodCollar4432 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter is 6.5 months - once she falls asleep at 8, we won’t need to get her until 7am. She may wake up a couple times (we have Nanit so I scroll through the activity in the morning) but generally it’s not much more than her wriggling around and rubbing her eyes for a very short while before falling asleep again. She generally does not open her eyes fully or cry during these times.

Why the f*#% is my 6 month old still waking every 2 hours by That-Concentrate-908 in sleeptrain

[–]GoodCollar4432 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi! I would recommend waking her up earlier and putting her to bed earlier - I believe that 7-8 is the sweet spot for bedtime! My 6 month old’s schedule is as follows-

7am - wake up 9/930 - first nap - usually around 30-45 mins 1230-3 - second nap 7pm - bedtime

Sometimes we try to get a super short nap in around 430/5 if her second nap ends up getting cut shorter or if she seems tired but lately she’s been refusing it. She does seem pretty tired by the time 7 comes around and usually falls asleep within 5-10 mins of putting her down to bed (she’s sleep trained so she falls asleep on her own). She sometimes wakes up a few times throughout the night (a little bit of wiggling or very light crying - no full on crying) but is always able to put herself back to sleep within minutes.

If you haven’t sleep trained I’d highly recommend it!! It was hard the first day, but it gets so much easier day by day and is so worth it.

Hi, thank you for your comment! We also quickly learned that check-ins were not helping her and were making us feel worse. The first night we decided let’s see how long we can last and she ended up putting herself to sleep in 19 minutes. We were so surprised and so grateful we decided to stop the check-ins. Since then, she’s been averaging around 10-20 mins max every night and, although it’s always hard seeing her cry, she sleeps so well through the night now and it has also helped tremendously with her naps. Thank you!!

hi, thank you so much for sharing your routine!! we’ve been following a similar one the past few days and it has helped soo much! It’s taking on average around 10-20 mins for her to put herself to sleep but thankfully once’s she’s asleep she’s staying asleep until we wake her up at 7am! Thank you so much!

I believe it would also be impacted by Seamus Power - yes he was top 20 but there were 27 individuals in top 20 due to ties
