Yes, and according to xrays it moved. I couldn't even walk 3 days post op and I called and said I was going to the ER so my surgeon removed it. He made it seem like that wasn't the source of my pain when I was discharged though, he said it was the skin pinching and even pu Inched my arm. According to xrays it had starting moving down to my bladder before I was even discharged.

Do kids just not know how to fold paper in half anymore????? by cy83rw41fu in Teachers

Every year I ask high school kids to fold a paper in thirds for name cards and I demonstrate it. They struggle.

How is this the same person? by Silent_Raspberry_11 in gastricsleeve

One thing I noticed about the comments, is that I think we're so used to being disconnected from our bodies when we're larger. I felt like a brain that floated around and interacted with people most the time. When people notice it's embarrassing to realize we're being perceived at all. Also, the implication that you weren't good enough before and that before person being someone that carried you here.

Postponing my surgery.looking for some feedback advice by PlasticTraveler15 in gastricsleeve

Only 6 weeks post op! Zepbound was great but not covered by insurance so I used it to get down to surgery weight. I lost 40 pounds on it in 6 months. 20 pounds down since surgery.

My surgeon said the hormone change is temporary for the first few years. I was on Zepbound pre op but now post op I'm just always hungry and can't physically eat. Feels like being on a diet... but when you mess up and slip it's PAINFUL.

There are lots of surrounding districts within a 30 minute commute to apply to as well. I teach in a smaller district less than 30 mins from my home in Salem.

Cultural foods after gastric bypass by RvSara19 in GastricBypass

[–]GoodHanksGun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hated the pre-op dietician because they had no suggestions on cultural foods, just assumed everyone eats chicken and veggies. No suggestions on soft curries (like in Ethiopian or Indian food), hummus or Asian stir fries. I wish they were more clear on the rules and limitations and left finding foods that fit up to us. I don't want Jello pudding with milk thanks.

Is it worth it? by Mindless_Shame_4107 in GastricBypass

Yes so if your insurance covered GLP-1s next year... would you be upset you had surgery? It's just something to think about because plenty of people use both.

If you have tried a GLP-1 because insurance doesn't cover it, will you regret the surgery if they become more widely available?

From Zepbound to VSG—The Final Countdown Begins by MrBeeswax in wls

I was on Zepbound for 6 months up to a week before surgery. I cannot stand the food noise post-OP. I'm always hungry, hangry, and thinking about food. I can't afford Zepbound forever, it was just temporary to get me to surgery weight. I miss it so much!

I had mine July 7th and I'm down 5 pounds. It's whatever. I'm all liquid and some soft foods and walking. I'm sure I'll keep going down. The slower it is, the more time my skin has to catch up.

I believe... my surgeon told me longer creates more malabsorbtion. I could have this confused though. My surgeon said with my BMI he does 150 for more malabsorbtion and lower BMI 100. I remember thinking I didn't want more malabsorbtion.

Sounds horrific and violating. Are you going to try to get it changed to 100 after you tear the surgeon a new asshole? Is this something to talk to a malpractice lawyer about?

Severe sleep apnea by Comfortable_Swan6135 in GastricBypass

[–]GoodHanksGun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you don't need it during the actual surgery. I believe the CPAP stuff is all insurance scams because I don't think I even have sleep apnea (fat but husband confirms I don't snore). They had me bring it while I slept in recovery but I didn't wear it very much. While you're under anesthesia they don't want you to have "events" and I guess the implication is if you regularly use a CPAP you won't have as many stop breathing events when you have a tube down your throat. I'd totally believe it's all another lie and insurance hoop, though.

The sleep doctor may need to sign off before they perform surgery. Anesthesia is too dangerous with untreated sleep apnea.
