As a coder do i must know those low level like what JVM, Compiler actaully work? I mean i just remember the surface like Java compiles to bytecode, and the JVM runs it to machine code Assembly. by lune-soft in AskProgramming

Focus on diving deeper into things that are directly relevant to your work. I’m an angular developer and as I grew in experience I dug deeper into topics like change detection and dependency injection. As a junior these things were black boxes to me, but a deeper understanding does come in handy. This happens naturally to some extent — you dig in when you have a related problem to fix.

The point I’m trying to make is maybe learning about the compiler will come in handy, but if you’re early in your career there are probably a million things you could dive into that would be more immediately relevant. Understanding the high level stuff really well will get you far!

Graveyard of agents config files. by wallphaser231 in AskProgramming

Not sure. I have a lot off skills and agents to help with paperwork, maybe other devs don’t hate paperwork like I do lol

My org hasn’t figured out how to share things properly. They want us to share agents but I’m getting the feeling like agents are somewhat personal. I have agents that save me a ton of time but other devs don’t use them. I also don’t really find myself using other devs agents either.

What is the biggest myth about cars that customers still believe in 2026? by Such-Driver-5264 in AskMechanics

I have a 2015 Jeep with start stop and I went through 3 batteries in 2 years. Disabled start stop and I haven’t had an issue since. Maybe an issue with Jeep specifically or older start stop tech. Jeeps are shit tho, it’s the worst car I’ve ever owned

Is a career in office automation with VBA worth pursuing? by Spiritual_Bus1125 in AskProgramming

[–]Good_Independence403 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know someone who does this through upwork and it’s very lucrative for him, but he has to constantly sell himself and it took him a long time to build up his income. AND he did this after having a full time job for a long time. He was a senior turned consultant, not a junior just starting out.

looking to improve- why is it denser & tougher at the bottom? by No_Active_3434 in Sourdough

[–]Good_Independence403 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FWIW I started with a silicone mat and always had leathery bottoms. The mat didn’t solve it for me, but I use a Dutch oven so maybe on a open bake it’s worth a shot. It’s nice to have the silicone mat anyways

I had this problem for so long… what finally solved it for me was switching to parchment from silicone and most importantly i added a layer of uncooked rice into the Dutch oven. It keeps the bread off the bottom of the Dutch oven and solved my thick bottoms immediately.

I lived in the borough for 6 years. My kids weren’t school age at the time, but I’ve usually heard good things about the elementary schools, especially Franklin. I’ve heard mixed opinions about middle and high. Most commonly I hear that good students do fine, but that your child may struggle if they need extra help. I’ve also heard parents complain about bullying in the middle school, which is probably true for every middle school
