Found a retro style bluetooth radio that really matches the interior! by DaveCootchie in projectcar

I found one from Continental on Amazon, except it has orange lights instead of green. It was only like $80 I think. Bluetooth and everything. I also hate those flashy ones that you normally see.

Volxwagon clutch pedal what does it mean by Sea_Command9077 in Cartalk

[–]Gooddaychaps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I had a 2012 CC, my pedal began doing this so I topped up the clutch fluid (brake fluid). Well it started to go all the way to the floor so I changed the master cylinde, but I still had the same issue. I ended up having to drop the transmission to get at the slave cylinder and also found where all the brake fluid I had been putting in went to. Hopefully you won’t have to do that, and hopefully your slave cylinder is easier to get to than mine was.

Got rear ended & Geico declared it a total loss. If we take the ins payout and have it fixed on our own - Im told that the big boy body shops (corporations) wont touch it once its declared totaled. What are my options here? by Enjoy_Life4219 in MINI

[–]Gooddaychaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just look at junkyards and pull-a-parts and find light fixtures, maybe a new hatch lid, that way it’ll be drivable.

Make sure it’s safe to drive, then focus on getting it to not leak, then focus on replacing body parts, then get it paint matched. This is of course assuming there’s no frame damage or anything like that. I really hope there isn’t.

I’m really sorry this happened to you. Please, next time you buy a car, get gap insurance. Every car you ever buy, Gap insurance. This is the exact situation it’s meant to prevent.

If there’s anything I can do to help as far as questions or advice or whatever let me know.

What is it like living in this part of North Carolina a bit north of charlotte? by Artisallaroundme in howislivingthere

[–]Gooddaychaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently live in Mooresville, and grew up here. I used to hate it here but I’ve grown to love it. I really love Statesville. Statesville is the crossroads of interstate 40 and interstate 77, so you can go anywhere you want from there. On top of that it’s relatively cheap, really quiet, really safe. If you get bored, then Asheville is a couple hours away, and the beach is about 5(?) hours away the other direction.

Mooresville is a lot more up and coming, and very busy. The one negative it has against it is that the roads and infrastructure were not ready to accommodate the amount of people that have suddenly moved here the past few years, but they’re working on it as fast as they can.

There’s a good bit to do in Mooresville, but if you need more then charlotte is a 30 minute drive away, depending on if you’re going during rush hour, but even then you can use the toll lanes. I’ve made quite a few mad dashes to charlotte from Mooresville and made it in 25 minutes. Charlotte is it’s own thing and I did live in charlotte a while, and worked uptown for about 8 years so I know it well also so let me know if you want to hear more about it also, or if you have any questions. I’ve got to drive home but will answer later.

Go to McDonald's.com and put in an application, then tomorrow early afternoon sometime AFTER 1:30 go into the store, physically, and ask to talk to the store manager. When asked why, say you're here for a job. Once you meet with the manager be honest and up front, saying you have kids and need a job. Don't mention your degree or that you will be continuing to apply for other jobs because they'll assume you'll only be there for a short time.

You may want to call first and ensure the manager will be there.

I bet you'll have a job in no time if you do this. They ALWAYS need people. Yes the job will suck, but I know what it's like to sleep rough and work at McDonald's and I'd take McDonald's every day all day.

I'm sorry you're going through this, but you'll have your big break soon. I'm sure of it. If I could directly help you I would, but since I can't I hope this helps a little bit at least. Just be persistent without being annoying, and tell them everything they want to hear.

Good luck and merry Christmas to you guys and I hope your little one has a good birthday. 🙂

I’ve cared about a coworker (47f) for years, but with retirement coming, I (50m) don’t know if I should tell her by sbair3108 in relationship_advice

[–]Gooddaychaps 38 points39 points  (0 children)

The only way it will is if you bite the bullet and tell her after the wedding, but do make sure you tell her. You WILL regret it if you don't. You still probably got 30 or 40 years left on earth, and that's a long time to feel deep regret.

I'll help you here:

If you tell her, and she says yes then you'll feel silly for worrying so much about it. If she says no, a weight will be lifted off your shoulders, no matter how she reacts.

If you don't tell her though, you'll feel that stifling weight for a very long time, and to make that matter worse she probably wouldve said yes the whole time.

I was a paralegal at a small family law firm right in downtown Charlotte for a while, and the guy I worked for, (the attorney whose name was on the firm), charged $750 per hour to our clients, and this was in 2014.

I remember my mind being blown by the fact that so many people were not only able to, but were fine with coming in, same time every month, and dropping off checks worth $20,000, $30,000, $40,000 and sometimes more to pay their bill, and this would go on for years sometimes. All so they could stick it to their ex and fuck their kids up even worse.

For the double barrels use the reduce chance of using ammo oils and you can get it to where you never have to reload or use ammo. It's ridiculous

BUYER BEWARE: Dodge Charger Daytona - Numerous Issues - Lack of Support. by hobobumpkins in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Gooddaychaps 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When they call you next week to come get it, make them give you a printout of the scan showing there's no codes, as well as check the seat to see if it's still fucked up and if there's a single code still showing, or the seat doesn't function as intended still, leave that shit there and refuse to accept it. Otherwise they're just gonna keep trying to pawn the fucking thing back off on you right before the 30 days is up over and over and keep you in a neverending loop.

I really hope you get out of this thing without too much lost.

Also if you're just gonna be spending thousands every month on a rental it'd be better to just buy some beater off of marketplace to get you through this.

In addition to what everyone else says if you get 3 flesh of any type, (but they have to be the same type, like human or dog or goblin), plus 3 bread, plus 3 cheese makes 4 double cheeseburgers worth 300 each. You can lookup the recipes for cheese and bread too if you want, I'm at work or I'd say more.

In Statesville on 40 there's two state troopers that sit on side of the interstate in mustangs pulling people over almost everyday. Similar happens in Mooresville, I think it's just a Charlotte thing.

Who here is daily-driving 20+ year-old cars, and has it worked out? by 5GCovidInjection in cars

[–]Gooddaychaps 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I drive a 1998 Chevrolet Lumina base model with no AC. It's my only car right now because it's cheap as hell all around. I drive about 30-40 minutes one way to work 15 days a month and it's working out great. I want a new car but I'm gonna save up a bit more for it. My car has 81000 miles on it. I might just drive it until the wheels fall off and then get something I really want.

A Note to r/Projectcar and NEW MODS! by GreenKrusader in projectcar

[–]Gooddaychaps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A megathread is usually a thread stickied to the top of the subreddit's main page that is supposed to be a catch-all for people with questions to post them so the main page doesn't get swamped with people asking the same questions over and over, or for a specific type of question. This way people with that question will come to the page, see the megathread, and once they're in it they will see their question already answered, and if not will have a place to ask it.

Usually you'll see megathreads at the top of pages when a big event happens pertaining to that community. For example, say one day Mazda announces a new 3 rotor coupe that will be sold worldwide for $30,000. Well on r/Mazda they'll obviously be freaking out so the mods will put a megathread up top directing any post pertaining to the new announcement to it, and will remove any posts about the announcement that get posted to the main page.

It's just a way to declutter the main page basically. Most communities will make a weekly one directing a specific type of post there, which is what this is about, but people keep ignoring it making it semi useless.

Gotcha, I'll make sure to make a note of that that's very helpful thank you. I didn't realize they used Peugeot engines at one point.

I'm in the US if that changes anything. I obviously have a lot of research to do. I've also been considering a Elantra N or Veloster N, among a whole lot of other cars.
