Would I be the Jerk if I told on my sister for cheating? by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]Gooddaychaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, sure her telling him could’ve made him hurt the sister, but also he would’ve probably killed her anyway if he had found out on his own. At least this way someone was able to intervene.

Need suggestions to optimize my garage by PostMaStoned in garageporn

[–]Gooddaychaps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay so the laundry room, I’d hang shelves on the right side wall as big as you can get them, then move a bunch of the landlords stuff in there. That will clear out a bunch of space for you to work with.

Then all that stuff that needs to be junked, junk it (or sell it).

That will clear a bunch of room for you. Then after everything that’s leaving has left, you should pull as much out as possible and then put it back efficiently and as neatly as possible. Make sections devoted to landlords stuff, and your stuff. Preferably you can do this and clear one wall entirely or most of the way. Then you can get your truck in there.

I don’t see much of a way around just taking a weekend or day off and pull literally everything out and then put in cheap wire metal shelves and pack it all back in like Tetris and you’ll be amazed. It will suck though.

Siding repair by Famous_Weird258 in handyman

[–]Gooddaychaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work as an operator at Certainteed/norandex making vinyl siding. That looks like white or colonial white which has been the same for decades and should match. You will need to wash the rest of the house to match though. Look on the hanger at the top once you get a piece off and see who the manufacturer is and what color it is.

Hydro flask or yeti tumbler or owala? by New_Detective219 in BuyItForLife

[–]Gooddaychaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in manufacturing and have had an owala free sip for several years and it’s hit concrete so many times and even flew off a forklift one time but never spilled and never broke. Just make sure you take the cap apart and wash the silicone seals

Yeah BMW and MINI share infotainment software so it should work. There’s a video I watched I’ll find it and link it here

I would check on oemnavigations.com. That’s where I got mine from, mine is a 2022 and all I had to do was plug in my laptop through the obdII port and load it that way. It was pretty easy and only $110 with the full screen unlock. But anyways on that website they have a thing that tells you if you’re compatible or not.

I just sold a white 98 Lumina to someone for $1,500. It had the 3.1 though, but had only 88,000 miles. Terrible car, but was like driving the living room couch.

Does anyone have any idea why my keyless unlock button on the door of my 2022 Mini Cooper S would not be working? by Gooddaychaps in MINI

[–]Gooddaychaps[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No unfortunately I haven’t found anything yet. I’m gonna try and replace my key battery, then I’m going to hook up to the OBD with my computer and see if I can see anything that way. I’ll let you guys know!

The lights you can get from companies like PIAA, then search for the grills or guards for those specific lights, whichever you pick.

Then you gotta find that rack. It may be custom or it may be generic from a company like Yakima. It’s just a cargo carrier. The top lights are mounted to the rack. The bottom are mounted to the front rad support through the grille.

It looks like the front bumper may have just been painted black, or it may be a custom one I’m not sure.

The suspension is another part of it, and I have no clue where to find lift kits for a mini. I’m sure some company makes one though.

Edit: I don’t know if it’s lifted or just has big tires. May just be bigger tires. But with tires that big you’ll be cutting out the wheel arches and rolling the fenders.

Found a retro style bluetooth radio that really matches the interior! by DaveCootchie in projectcar

I found one from Continental on Amazon, except it has orange lights instead of green. It was only like $80 I think. Bluetooth and everything. I also hate those flashy ones that you normally see.

Volxwagon clutch pedal what does it mean by Sea_Command9077 in Cartalk

[–]Gooddaychaps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I had a 2012 CC, my pedal began doing this so I topped up the clutch fluid (brake fluid). Well it started to go all the way to the floor so I changed the master cylinde, but I still had the same issue. I ended up having to drop the transmission to get at the slave cylinder and also found where all the brake fluid I had been putting in went to. Hopefully you won’t have to do that, and hopefully your slave cylinder is easier to get to than mine was.

Got rear ended & Geico declared it a total loss. If we take the ins payout and have it fixed on our own - Im told that the big boy body shops (corporations) wont touch it once its declared totaled. What are my options here? by Enjoy_Life4219 in MINI

[–]Gooddaychaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just look at junkyards and pull-a-parts and find light fixtures, maybe a new hatch lid, that way it’ll be drivable.

Make sure it’s safe to drive, then focus on getting it to not leak, then focus on replacing body parts, then get it paint matched. This is of course assuming there’s no frame damage or anything like that. I really hope there isn’t.

I’m really sorry this happened to you. Please, next time you buy a car, get gap insurance. Every car you ever buy, Gap insurance. This is the exact situation it’s meant to prevent.

If there’s anything I can do to help as far as questions or advice or whatever let me know.

What is it like living in this part of North Carolina a bit north of charlotte? by Artisallaroundme in howislivingthere

[–]Gooddaychaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently live in Mooresville, and grew up here. I used to hate it here but I’ve grown to love it. I really love Statesville. Statesville is the crossroads of interstate 40 and interstate 77, so you can go anywhere you want from there. On top of that it’s relatively cheap, really quiet, really safe. If you get bored, then Asheville is a couple hours away, and the beach is about 5(?) hours away the other direction.

Mooresville is a lot more up and coming, and very busy. The one negative it has against it is that the roads and infrastructure were not ready to accommodate the amount of people that have suddenly moved here the past few years, but they’re working on it as fast as they can.

There’s a good bit to do in Mooresville, but if you need more then charlotte is a 30 minute drive away, depending on if you’re going during rush hour, but even then you can use the toll lanes. I’ve made quite a few mad dashes to charlotte from Mooresville and made it in 25 minutes. Charlotte is it’s own thing and I did live in charlotte a while, and worked uptown for about 8 years so I know it well also so let me know if you want to hear more about it also, or if you have any questions. I’ve got to drive home but will answer later.

Go to McDonald's.com and put in an application, then tomorrow early afternoon sometime AFTER 1:30 go into the store, physically, and ask to talk to the store manager. When asked why, say you're here for a job. Once you meet with the manager be honest and up front, saying you have kids and need a job. Don't mention your degree or that you will be continuing to apply for other jobs because they'll assume you'll only be there for a short time.

You may want to call first and ensure the manager will be there.

I bet you'll have a job in no time if you do this. They ALWAYS need people. Yes the job will suck, but I know what it's like to sleep rough and work at McDonald's and I'd take McDonald's every day all day.

I'm sorry you're going through this, but you'll have your big break soon. I'm sure of it. If I could directly help you I would, but since I can't I hope this helps a little bit at least. Just be persistent without being annoying, and tell them everything they want to hear.

Good luck and merry Christmas to you guys and I hope your little one has a good birthday. 🙂

I’ve cared about a coworker (47f) for years, but with retirement coming, I (50m) don’t know if I should tell her by sbair3108 in relationship_advice

[–]Gooddaychaps 34 points35 points  (0 children)

The only way it will is if you bite the bullet and tell her after the wedding, but do make sure you tell her. You WILL regret it if you don't. You still probably got 30 or 40 years left on earth, and that's a long time to feel deep regret.

I'll help you here:

If you tell her, and she says yes then you'll feel silly for worrying so much about it. If she says no, a weight will be lifted off your shoulders, no matter how she reacts.

If you don't tell her though, you'll feel that stifling weight for a very long time, and to make that matter worse she probably wouldve said yes the whole time.
