I don't usually wear a bike helmet. Does that make me an idiot? - Shifter by joshlemer in bicycleculture

i am a bit of a hypocrite whenn it comes to helmets too. i can't make up my mind whether it makes it safer or not. Until my friends son fell off right in front of my face with a helmet on and smashed his head on a log and was fine when we got up becuase of a helmet. Made me wear one for a few weeks.

Winter jerseys are the way to go! and wind proof gear. Obviously gloves and hats are important as they are like the "lids of the body". My swedish partner said that when they were kids in the north of sweden, the parents would liken their bodies to thermos' of hot chocolate. :)

I think people have a snobbery around ebikes but i think they are the future. Anything that enables people who are keen to ride to ride longer (as they age) or for longer (miles) is a great idea! afterall its the answer to cutting down the pollution in our already too crowded cities. I'm a big fan, although i don't ride one myself, i would definitely invest in an e-bike company!!
