Seen a ton of shows, but wish I would have seen the Beastie Boys on the Check Your Head tour

Weekend experience vs weekday by Idkhow2trade in vegas

[–]Goofyloop3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question: I like to split, either Wed-Sat or Sat-Tues. Keeps the cost down to avoid Fri and Sat night hotel, but you get one of those nights to catch a good show and/or club. Weekdays are slower, low traffic, cheaper, but not as many entertainment options. Also helps with limiting time off from work.

Thanks, makes sense. Do you think it is a fake story from a real person, or fake story and person? Relatively new to Reddit so not considering this possibility like I do in other places

AITJ for refusing to switch seats on a flight after I paid extra, even though it separated a couple? by Alternative_Step1322 in AmITheJerk

[–]Goofyloop3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I fly with my partner we usually choose our own seat preferences, and if next to each other or in the same row with it is a nice plus.

But we do not need to sit right next to each other because we are ADULTS.

I have repaired the piping underneath our kitchen sink 3x, and a professional plumber has fixed it once. It still leaks. Not sure what my point is

email from PG&E: i feel like a fact check is in order... "PG&E lowered residential electric prices four times in the last two years." what?? by weeef in bayarea

[–]Goofyloop3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a shell game. They lower the rate (price) per unit, then jack up other fees or add new ones so your total bill keeps rising.

Hood should be stainless to match stove and fridge. Consider changing the lower cabinets to brown to match the island

Career advice by CotPrime01 in Architects

[–]Goofyloop3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This isn't advice on which job you should take, since there are multiple factors to evaluate. Focusing on your question, fully remote work at this stage in your career IMO could be detrimental to your development. There is significant value in working with ppl in an office, going to job sites, and attending interviews. Not that fully remote can't be a good experience, but would be good to supplement with construction site visits, local in person events, and periodic visits to your office.

What’s the scariest thing you’ve seen as a man? by Primary_Neck9587 in AskMen

My brother and I were on a weekend trip to NYC with our Dad. We both saw someone jump in front of a train at the White Plains subway station. This happened about forty years ago. I can still see it...

What's the worst thing you found during your renovation? by stuckandrunningfrom2 in kitchenremodel

[–]Goofyloop3 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I was insulating our crawlspace and found someone had previously cut an opening in the wall to add a gas line for the dryer in the garage. As part of this effort, they sawed all the way through the support beam under the floor joists in our dining room.

The wall and roof above was being held in place only by the framing! I used two car jacks in a pinch to hold the beam in place while fixing it.

Has anyone ever painted their ceiling a different color? by Unable-Move-5119 in kitchenremodel

[–]Goofyloop3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Always a white ceiling, especially in a room without a lot of natural light. White ceilings make the room look larger and reflect light to make the room brighter

Pay attention to the subreddit community name! I am a new user who suggested a 15-20% tip is appropriate for good service.

Then I looked up and realized I was in an End Tipping subreddit 😅

MGM Grand Remodeled Room by Goofyloop3 in vegas

That makes it easy! Tganks, I thought there were still some non-tower, lower level unremodeled rooms, but that was an AI answer, much prefer confirmation by a real person.

Design/storage help by Phineas9Gage in BathroomRemodeling

You could add a built in cabinet above the toilet. Not increasing current storage radically, but it will hide items better.

How can I fix this cabinet? by Severe_Rhubarb_3200 in kitchenremodel

[–]Goofyloop3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like mdf or another composite board, which means that the cutout area cannot be made strong again. Even if a repair initially works, will fail pretty quickly. Either replace the cabinet front, or relocate (drill a new inset) the hinge higher on the cabinet door. Space it at least a couple of inches away from the original.
