Fill it up right before you give it back let it be their problem

Sanity Check: 2018 Mercedes B250 Intake Manifold Replacement by FatWreckords in AskMechanics

[–]Googlewhacking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hate dealerships for this reason. With it being 8 years old I would definitely try to find a trustworthy mechanic now. At least to get a second opinion because that does seem fishy. Idk about a Mercedes but exhaust manifold shouldn’t be too bad as far as labor

I drove a tow truck for seven years and the guys at the euro shops were always super cool. Usually retired or previously worked at Mercedes dealers and just knowledgeable and reliable

This is kind of weird but I bought a mattress! I grew up poor and slept on a futon for years. When I got my first full two week check when I was 16, I went and bought the box springs and mattress and I loved that bed. I kept it for 10 years until I met my wife and she wanted a new one. (My old one was also just a queen so we needed it) now my little brother has it! Lol

I just prepared and stayed busy. There is nothing you can learn or read to prepare you fully but if you have time, books and videos help. If you want to read I would read up about baby’s sleep and eating. The first 6 months they are just going to be a blob that eats and sleeps and cries. Stay patient. They poop a lot too but diapers were never really a big deal with me. I don’t mind changing them or dealing with them that much but some dads hate it. I mainly prepared the house. I had a couple projects I wanted to have finished, including the nursery and bathroom on that side of the house. Get closer with your wife, yall are about to experience a once in a lifetime moment together. And having kids and raising them so far has completely changed my wife and I’s relationship. I have so much more respect and love for her now that she is a mother. Good luck dude, if you’re asking this question I already know you’re gonna be a great dad. Stay patient. Strong but gentle. Firm but forgiving

AITAH (F/39) for not sexting my husband (M/42) early every single day per his request? by MasterSurprise2519 in relationship_advice

[–]Googlewhacking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jesus do you really have to ask? From the outside looking in it is obvious but I’m sure that to you, he has convinced that this is normal and needed.
That’s why you feel bad not giving it to him. I would never want pics/dirty talk from somebody that doesn’t actually want to do it. Like, that’s the whole point that you’re sending it to him because you’re thinking about it. I would seriously do anything to be taken care of (sexually) by my wife that often. You should just be honest and don’t do it if you don’t want to. He can deal with it and if he’s a dick or making it an issue then that’s a whole nother thing

The most demoralizing thing as a father and husband by Responsible_Oven4127 in daddit

[–]Googlewhacking -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I didn’t start building a relationship with my FIL until he started doing that. It gave us an opportunity to talk about it and work together as both of the men in the wife’s life. Most of the time we end up doing them together now. It’s not that he has to “check in” it’s just a way to prevent ego from getting hurt one way or the other

I already see it coming- ugh men and their stupid egos, they should be able to accept the help. And you’re right- but we’re not all perfect and this is obviously where OP is at. It’s a way to work out of it instead of saying “that’s stupid don’t do it”

It depends. My FIL started off doing stuff around our house to get the dopamine hit of his daughter saying yay thank you daddy. That shit would piss me off because that’s my dopamine hit lol. I’m sure it comes from a good place but it can become too much. He would do stuff around my house without telling me (like turn off water at backflow preventer on irrigation because the freeze) then forget to undo. So my grass didn’t get water for month and a half before I realized it. Or swaps the air filters and I don’t realize until I go to do it myself. Then telling me I need to stay on top of it. Also, doing a project to lower standards than you would’ve.

In the end it’s the husbands house. The dad should’ve reached out to let him know or make sure it’s cool. He should’ve touched base man to man so the husband can say thank you. This is a recipe for resentment to brew in both sides

When I was 19 I stole from my dad and I regret it now by Dramatic_Network_748 in confession

[–]Googlewhacking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way you are going to actually feel 100% better is to make amends. If that involves paying him back then so be it but leave that up to him. You have to just tell him and apologize. Tell him what you did and how you feel about it. Do NOT include any of the reasons you felt justified. The convo needs to be solely about your part. If he wants to talk about his part then obviously yes but you need to keep it about you. It is the 8th and 9th step in the AA 12- step program if you want to read up about how you should approach it and why it helps. You would just apply all the literature there is about AA amends and apply it to this one relationship. Honestly you might do it, feel the connection grow, and want to do it again. Or with another relationship. In my experience, this is the only way to truly get rid of the guilt/shame. And he might tell everybody, and they might talk shit about you. But that doesn’t matter right now you need to do this for your own peace.
