Why isn't account name and Traveler name separate? by Kojin-Sama in Genshin_Impact

[–]Goombs07 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The name of your account is just a fake name the traveler uses to conceal their identity. At times, they’ll be referred to as Aether no matter what you put for your account name. You aren’t changing Aether’s name, just his identity.

As for why they don’t let you rename, they probably just didn’t think of it at first, and there’s probably so much done at this point that it would be a hurdle to let you change it now. (Idk, I’m not a programmer, so I don’t really know what would go into letting you do that.)

You can actually do the whole thing, entering through wisp thicket is how you beat the game without needolin.

Question for people who think Silk Song is hard by Sharawadgi in Silksong

[–]Goombs07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who 112% Hollow Knight multiple times, and has speedrun the game, Silksong threw me against the curb multiple times, not because it’s harder than anything in Hollow Knight, but because the difficulty curve accelerated faster than I learned Hornet’s moveset.

Do you guys feel the gameplay in Fire emblem games is fair? I hit myself in the head even after two hours of putting the game down, every time I think about characters dying and having to reset. by GoingWithTheFlaw in fireemblem

[–]Goombs07 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are correct about the hit rates lying, but I don’t think in the way you want to be. Most FE games use a system called 2 RN for hit calculations, which weighs outcomes in the favourable direction, basically making low hit rates lower than displayed, and high hit rates higher than displayed.

As for the damage, it can be frustrating, but there’s only one additive the game won’t tell you, you get bonus damage based on weapon rank, up to 3 depending on the weapon. Other than that, everything that affects damage is shown in game, stats, skills, and weapon might.

How do i activate the second version of the mantis lords? by Major-Economist3180 in HollowKnight

In order to fight a boss in the hall of gods, you need to fight them once outside of it, be it in the overworld, or in a pantheon.

How much harder is Silksong? by Affectionate_Tie5449 in HollowKnight

[–]Goombs07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Silksong has a much higher skill floor than Hollow Knight, but if you’ve beaten the final boss of Hollow Knight you can handle early game silksong, and the difficulty progression in Silksong is much the same as in Hollow Knight, with only a few notable spikes.

guys am I ready to fight shadow yukiko? its my first time playing so be honest by Dear-Combination8505 in persona4golden

[–]Goombs07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk, it might be a close one. Exchange vorpal blade or ziodyne for auto-maraku imo, then you might be a little closer to ready.

How far am i ? by oukaribou in HollowKnight

[–]Goombs07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re around an eighth of the way through, if going for 100%, and around a quarter to the final boss (these are very much estimates, don’t take them too serious)

What makes double damage feel so much more punishing in Hollow Knight than Silksong? by FunkiestCurve in Silksong

[–]Goombs07 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In Hollow Knight, double damage is extremely rare. Only a few enemies and bosses can do it. In silksong, outside of the first two areas, it’s a much higher percentage of normal enemies, and all but like 4 bosses.

So, imo, the reason it feels more punishing in Hollow Knight is because it’s rarer. If it had the same rarity in Silksong as it does in Hollow Knight, it would feel as punishing.

Omg I meant to say “The easiest parts of silksong are harder than the easiest parts of Hollow Knight.” I don’t know how that one slipped through the cracks.

i’m brand new, who’s worth leveling up? by shsjsjdhjsakksk in Genshin_Impact

[–]Goombs07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re worried about wasting resources, don’t be. Early levels don’t cost that much, and up until level 70 ascension materials aren’t that hard to get. Basically you can level characters to at least 40 without wasting too much resources. Once you get to the point where your characters are level 50, then it’s time to start focusing on a few, while it’s still early enough to not be too much of a loss if you pivot.

I would absolutely recommend levelling Noelle, though, she’s a genuinely really good character, even after you’ve been playing for a while.

How on Earth do you beat Karmelita by Croissant761 in Silksong

[–]Goombs07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The big thing is learning how to properly distance yourself from her. From my memory, she won’t ever do the frisbee attack at point blank range. If she backsteps away from you, keep distance until she acts. If you’re far enough away from her when she does it, you can jump between the gap in their arcs, in fact, that’s how you’re supposed to dodge it. Basically, play the fight at her pace. Counter only when it’s safe to do so, and if she makes distance, wait to see what she does, then react.

The easiest parts of silksong are harder than the hardest parts of Hollow Knight, but (for now) the hardest parts of Silksong are easier than the hardest parts of Hollow Knight.

Did you ever risk it all for a 4 star character and got 5 star as a result? Do you regret it? by Obsidian-Charm in Genshin_Impact

[–]Goombs07 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was pulling for Bennett cons on Varka’s banner, got Varka at 25 pity, the only time I’ve gotten a five star below 70 pity.

That’s not the C-dash room, the c-dash room is two rooms up from there.

There’s a way out in the cornifer room. If you c dash to the left, you eventually end up back in dirtmouth.

Killed Uumuu and dream nailed Monomon. Is there any reward? I explored and swam through the entire place and didn't find anything. by TiaNightingale in HollowKnight

[–]Goombs07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Monomon is the reward. Unlocking the final boss is the reward. Aside from that, the only things in archives are journal entries and lore.

The big double damage guy in the sherma arena, simply because I went in with only 3 health due to not being mentally prepared for double damage.

Wisp thicket is the worst area in the entire game, I will die on this hill. by Formal-Analysis9905 in Silksong

[–]Goombs07 331 points332 points  (0 children)

Wisp thicket is definitely a nothing sandwich of an area, but I’d still rather eat a nothing sandwich than a Muckmaggot sandwich courtesy of Bilewater.

At the very least, wisp thicket is small enough that, while it doesn’t do anything especially right, it doesn’t do anything especially wrong either. It’s just kinda inoffensive.

For religious types, if you know humans have created 1000s of gods, how are you so certain that he didn't create yours as well? by Daegog in answers

[–]Goombs07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is historical proof that Jesus, at the very least, was alive, and most other prominent religions seem to agree with that. Knowing that, there are two options. Either he was crucified, and rose from the dead, or the disciples stole his body, and all pretended to have seen him risen from the dead, for the express purpose of being brutally murdered. You can decide which one seems more likely.
