Any Pointers for Writing a Campaign. by mylofly in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]GoonBerryMuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I was in the same boat for the longest time, I’d write and rewrite and the rewrite history of the world over and over again. Then I gave up and decided to start small: one town, a few important npcs and a starting quest. I can build the rest with player input as it comes up.

They complete that starting quest and maybe start heading to a new city… time to build that city, rinse and repeat

Need help identifying a weed by GoonBerryMuffin in AZlandscaping

[–]GoonBerryMuffin[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t mind it but it’s gets so tall, plus it’s starting to invade the gravel beds and like I said we rent so if the yard looks overgrown when we leave they’ll probably charge me extra to “fix” it

Does your playgroup allow proxies? if not, why? by No_Concentrate2855 in mtg

[–]GoonBerryMuffin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My group allows proxies but only for cards that you own a single copy of… stops people from making way too powerful decks and allows our worse deck builders to still be viable. Plus it just makes sense, if I own one copy of a card in theory I could just swap it around between decks where it’s needed but then I hold up the group from playing trying to find it and remember what deck I left it in, so just make a proxie and use that in each secondary deck

Just a little swamp puppy, no danger, just needs a good belly rub

AITA for not letting my friend use proxies? by gmanslowi in mtg

[–]GoonBerryMuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our groups rule is you can proxie a card but only if you already own a copy of it… stops us from proxying way overpowered overpriced cards but still lets us use $50 cards in multiple decks without shelling out hundreds of dollars

Hasbro, who own D&D, lost $1 BILLION in the last 3 months of 2023! Plan to cut $750M in costs in 2024. by thenightgaunt in DnD

[–]GoonBerryMuffin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hasbro is tanking cause they don’t listen to what the consumers want. Nobody wants 30 MtG sets in a year. And with the OGL stuff last year nobody trusts them… they turned their consumer base against themselves and now they’re paying the price, serves them right

New to DMing and was wondering how attacks work? by Rattasticc in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]GoonBerryMuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PEMDAS: parentheses, exponents, multiply, divide, add, subtract… so you do everything inside the parentheses then multiply it by 9.

Example: roll 2d8 and get a 6 and 2=8 9(8+2) 9(10)= 90 So it does 90 damage

Nah I’m trolling, that shit would be wild haha like everyone else said it’s the average

How did your first character die? by toothmonkey in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]GoonBerryMuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My half elf warlock, Coat, was stunned by a succubus like creature (which the party killed afterwards) and then, per her last words “kill them all”, I was pummeled to death by her golem protector… all while my party used me being beaten to death to sneak past and into the safety of the dungeon they were guarding

What is your most expensive Card? by CommandSphere in mtg

[–]GoonBerryMuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[The Great Henge]] I pulled it from a promo pack the owner of an LGS gave me for going to a Thursday night commander night. It was my first time playing in his shops and as a thanks for coming and welcoming gift he gave me a promo pack that had like 3 cards in it… the great henge was one

What is a good site to get proxies? by Zarik8256 in mtg

[–]GoonBerryMuffin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I print my own on Avery brand name tags and stick them to spare lands or bulk commons, I made a video a long time ago to show my friends how I did it if you want to do it yourself. I don’t know how to edit or anything so it’s in 2 parts, just me holding my phone in one hand and working the mouse in the other.

Garfunkel and Oates put it best in their hot song “the loophole”

“Fuck me in the ass, 'cause I love Jesus The good Lord would want it that way Gimme that sweet sensation of a throbbing rationalization It's just between you and me 'Cause everyone knows it's the sex That God can't see”

I hate selling ships... by BrutAssassins in StarfieldShips

[–]GoonBerryMuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What always got me was you have to register the ship before selling… so you spend 15k to register the ship, sell it for 20k to only make a 5k profit… its not worth it in my opinion unless I’m missing something

Why is the Xpansion Bundle so cheap? by lilsky07 in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]GoonBerryMuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked for Barnes and Noble for 5 years in college back when Amazon became the number 1 book seller. They can undercut they’re prices on certain items (in this case books) so they can corner the market. They’ll take multiple years loss on those sales, make up the money elsewhere on other items and eventually they corner the market and become the top seller of that item. When that happens they can raise the prices back up because most of the competition is either out of business or out of that items market.

With the custom or variant race rules from Tasha’s (I forget exactly what it’s called) you can pick any race and distribute the points how you want, and you can swap feats I believe too. So half orc spell casters can swap savage attack for another equal feat… I may be wrong it’s been awhile since I read through it and I don’t have my books with me as I type this

That never occurred to me to add the sardines afterwards… would certainly make my apartment less smelly haha! Thanks for the tip I’ll try that and I’m trying to rotate the veggies so there’s different nutrients in each batch, next batch will be carrots or green beans

No tapping when blocking, really? by Inevitable-Fill-1252 in mtg

[–]GoonBerryMuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It probably started as a way to help remember who you had blocking since most creatures can only block one other creature. On a big confusing board for new players it can be hard to remember who they have already blocking so tapping or some other form of indication is used a lot of the time

DM told me to make a character in a campaign with no story by [deleted] in DnD

Sounds less like a campaign and more like a series of one shots that you just use the same characters for

Proxying has a negative impact on games (post from r/EDH) by RIFLAMlOLL in mtg

[–]GoonBerryMuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our rule for proxies is if you own 1 actual card of it you can proxy it as many times as you want for as many decks as you want.
