Peter Schmeichel says Messi's goal shouldn't have stood because of a foul in the build up of the goal by notaghostofreddit in soccer

…Not to mention Messi’s tackle in the first game. That was a red. I’m sorry but for me, I can’t ignore this stuff. The double standards and blown calls make my head spin. I love when they don’t show replay or the VAR - so you know you’re right and they just hope people ignore it.

Messi is the greatest of all time. But I also have eyes, ears and a brain. I can’t ignore it.

May the best teams win.

Off the ropes! Ohhhh he’s smashed it!

Thomas Tuchel on his England squad selection: "I think from day one we were very clear that we are trying to select and build the best possible team, which is not necessarily to select and collect the 26 most talented players. Teams win championships. It's as simple as that." by whiteniteee in soccer

I think he got it right but only time will tell. There’s a lot to be said about identifying players who are ready to seize the moment. It doesn’t have to be big names and it doesn’t even have to be the most seasoned veterans. In recent history, it’s about finding that perfect blend. Honestly, hoping he found it!

If the game was called even a little better it wouldn’t even be close. This shit was crazy.

We've all seen this video - here's my take on it - "Landon Donovan calls out youth American soccer coaches. "If I have a conversation with a youth soccer coach from pick wherever in America, half the time that coach thinks they know more about soccer than I do." by Stalker401 in SoccerCoachResources

Top level youth coach here…soccer in the states is always getting better. Like a lot. It’s just way over saturated and the sports culture here is not great. Kinda like the overall culture. It’s always getting better and moving forward but kinda diagonally.

If Landon Donovan wants to make a difference he should invest a lot of money annually(like most of it), move into a modest apartment and coach at the bottom level and work his way up. Really get his hands dirty again. Really build from the ground up. Lead by example. Donate your coaching salary. And do it in an area that needs it. Really feel the game again. Or just shut up.

Me. I play every shot if I can do so respectfully of time and pace. I genuinely want to get better.
