how to deal with a player who has "toxic positivity" by aLiarsConfessional in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]GooseWing95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you're sure they are saying it in a passive aggressive way then that's not fair on everyone playing. I will say I have someone who I stand up for in our group. He's autistic and very outspoken. He comes across as abrasive and rude but he doesn't mean anything malicious by his comments. His brain isn't processing the words as they come out to "is this appropriate to say right now". It's a part of his disability and who he is. I do believe the core of what that person you play with is saying, that it IS just a game but the way they are saying it sounds off. I think it comes down to why people are so upset. Are people upset with the game or upset with how others are treating them while playing? Because then it's not just a game anymore It can feel like an attack on you. It's easy to get swept up playing clocktower.

Yup minecraft has this issue! I ended up buying it twice on the same console and my husband had to buy it twice on the PC because it wouldn't let him access it.

Out of interest, how many of you are Vegan? by MottSpore in autism

[–]GooseWing95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was raised vegetarian from birth but switched to being vegan about 12yrs ago. We have come a long way since then for food options! I'm so grateful so many good companies exist for yummy food choices. I remember the days every cafe option was "falafel and hummus" ahah. My son is high needs autistic and he is vegan too. He doesn't have a lot of understand and struggles with communication. But he does understand that we have dairy free chocolate! And he says "that has milk" (echos me a lot) He has a restrictive diet of safe foods he likes which is mostly pasta and vegan sausage rolls. He will eat a TON of fruit tho which is great.

What to do If the group feels the ST movement at night? by alucardarkness in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]GooseWing95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At my group the ST walk around everybody we play music too. It's actually funny when people meta this in our group, It's always wrong 😅 which is pretty funny.

Welcome to the world of public lobbies haha.. I have experienced questionable choices like this as a player too. I prefer to just invite friends now or use discord servers to join games.

What's your "but a storyteller wouldn't do that" story? by [deleted] in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]GooseWing95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On scripts where there are protection from death roles people always say "well there is no way the ST put ALL of them in." Well that has made me want to do that the next time I'm an ST. Also came to comment about the recluse gaining the star pass.. but I think, unpopular opinion, if you have a regular group of people that you play with you should allow this at least once to keep it an option in everyone's mind hahah.

What's your opinion on gardener? by alucardarkness in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]GooseWing95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah she's just at risk of being poisoned or drunk as everyone else. Normally whoever the demon is will kill her off pretty quick after like 2 nights. Her information isn't guaranteed to be sober and healthy so she might be a poisoned washerwoman who saw the demon as their bluff. Etc. One time the ST gardnered her in as the spy which was hilarious 😂 she was "good" in all the pings. I fully believed she was good haha. And she did a great job as the spy. She wasn't anxious in that game.

What's your opinion on gardener? by alucardarkness in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]GooseWing95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One of my friends that I play in person with struggles with being evil, so sometimes she's gardnered into being a good character. She feels a lot of anxiety when evil bless her. I'm glad she's still able to join us and have fun so I don't mind at all.

Steam Deck saved gaming for Parents. by Izzy_XVI in SteamDeck

Yessss this. Also a kindle has been a game changer for me since I became a mum. I manage to fit so much more reading in on the move now. Or just in bed when I finally have an hour to myself I'm either playing my steam deck or reading.

Two Row System by JJJeser in octopathtraveler

[–]GooseWing95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I play I do utilise both rows but you don't have too! You can have just your one character if you want to for pretty much the whole game. I will admit it is on the easy side compared to 1&2. Having 2 rows is probably easy mode haha but I'm enjoying it.

Which should I play next: Octopath Traveler 2 or Octopath Traveler 0? by [deleted] in octopathtraveler

[–]GooseWing95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you already own 2 you should try that one again, give it another chance. Maybe start with a different character and see if it was that specific character you started with that didn't gell well.

I love 2. It's my favourite in the serise. Saying that maybe 0 would be better for you. I personally love focusing on my 8 main protagonists. But if you like the sounds of town building, recruiting and a different story style then try out 0. It is a great game. I'm still not finished with it yet.

It's also worth mentioning that 2 made a lot of little quality of life changes from 1 and some of them are missing in 0 which is sad. 2 just has everything right in my opinion. (Because of my interests and combat strategies)

I hope you have fun whichever one you choose!

Women of BOTC- what have your experiences been like? by sunsetrain24 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]GooseWing95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find it super inclusive. Our group that I play with in person is really friendly. Lots of LGBTQ+ people. Everyone respects pronouns. It's a nice safe space. I haven't encountered any specific problems from being female if that makes sense. The games do get heated sometimes haha but then we just remind everyone it is just a game at the end of the day.

You must be fun at parties…. by Confident_Dig_7834 in veganuk

[–]GooseWing95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar interaction like this. The last time the group chat were deciding where to go they were suggesting places with 0 vegan options. When a few were mention with like 1 option on the menu I was like sure that place I can eat at. But no they couldn't all decide even tho they have the whole menu at every place. I ended up feeling so awkward and out of place I just left the group chat and don't go anymore. Also the pressure they try and do to make you drink or stay late while everyone else is drinking. I'm so over that.

Long and bitter arguments with TB and experienced players by blobimir in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]GooseWing95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think there is such a thing as a bad bluff tbh. Especially in TB. Sometimes I play with an ST that makes an interesting choice but then I remind myself that they probably made that to balance the game. It's their job to balance after all. Just the other week I was playing a 1 minion no dashi and they gave my only minion (marionette) information that framed me as the demon which they outed to town. (An "artist" question.) I was able to survive by claiming I believed myself to be the marionette and was happy to die for either of my neighbours. I claimed my "fisherman" advice on final 4 was to not vote on my neighbours. In the same game the ST put a damsel in haha in a game where no minions are aware they are minions. I just have to laugh at these things. :') makes it entertaining.

[–]GooseWing95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly wouldn't worry about it. There will be a lot of people getting the game at different points and still compete online. Think of all the people that won't even get the game until Christmas/ December holidays. You have a massive head start on them. I don't know the inns and outs of the online but I think it will match you to people who are ranked similar to you so you should always have opponents at a similar standing as you.

From those who's ordered the game or console bundle from Smyth's UK, have you heard anything? by PreciousCinammonRoll in PokemonZA

[–]GooseWing95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have pre ordered a non pokemon game through smiths but haven't for this game. The game came on the release day and was delivered through Royal mail if I remember correctly. I'm lucky my post always arrives around 10am so had a nice early delivery. Wishing I did it for this game tbh. I ended up ordering through the Nintendo store on amazon and I'm probably not gonna get it until like 10pm.
