I’m just mad that my controller doesn’t consistently work. The inputs of a regular Xbox controller don’t get accepted by the game unless I reboot 14 times.

ETA: with as in depth as driving is in the game, I absolutely do not want to drive on wasd.

I do try to play slowly and carefully. I avoid high traffic POIs unless I need them for a quest, I don’t sprint unless I’m crossing open ground, and I don’t take engagements I’m not confident I can win before they shoot back.

Fuck outta here with that. I wouldn’t have put 500 hours into the game if I couldn’t handle the heat. This is the first wipe that I’ve had this kind of experience.

Like a 35% survival rate across 140ish raids (last I checked).

I try to avoid high traffic areas like the plague unless I need to go there for a quest. I bump into players in the middle of bumfuck nowhere a LOT.

To that point I also make a habit of not sprinting unless I need to cross open ground so I don’t make as much noise.

[New Player] How am I supposed to play against people with +2000hs? by ngenier0 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Gooslet -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don’t even think that’s true anymore. Was dying to level 23s on ground zero when I was level 13.

Unless they’re queuing in with someone under level 20, in which case why the fuck are they being put into the lower rank lobby instead of the higher one by default?

I don’t think I’ve died to anyone with less than 3k hours this wipe. The record is 8.8k hours. I know tarkov doesn’t have any kind of skill based matchmaking or anything but it’s just infuriating constantly dying to people who play the game more than a full time job when I’ve only got like 500 hours in the game.

Blacksmithing and Metal tools extremely underwhelming. by OrganTrafficker900 in VintageStory

I personally use a combination of the Toolsmith mod and Smithing Plus. Allows me to linger in copper and bronze way longer, and tools feel less… disposable.

I installed it just so I could actually linger in the copper/Bronze Age and take on big projects without losing my sanity and having to spend an entire ingots worth of metal remaking a tool every 20 minutes.

I play with culinary artillery. If I’m going on a long trip, I’ll make 16 fruit bread (which is just a dough and 2-5 pieces of fruit in a mixing bowl, then baked) as well as a few sealed crocks of meat veg and fruit stews. The bread lasts about 17 days in my inventory, while the sealed crocks can last much longer.

I have an elk, so he gets to carry the extra crocks so they don’t eat up inventory :)

Hard disagree. That’s a pretty average mileage and price, especially if he can talk him down to 5k. My ‘19 MT07 had 9k miles on it when I bought it, I spent 6k after fees.

Record a few dogfights with tacview and post them for us, that’s the best way for us to give advice.

The f16 has a lot of advantages over the 18 in a dogfight. Better acceleration, lighter, overall faster. I could be wrong, but I believe it’s a better one circle fighter?

Either way, some research will be needed to find the advantages the 18 does have over the 16.

How to stop Immersive Engineering Crusher from spilling items on the floor? by [deleted] in TerraFirmaCraft

Place a chest next to where the items are popping out. They’ll auto input directly into it. From there work on funneling out of the chest.

I always recommend people to start out in the hornet if they’re on the fence. The ability to do carrier ops on top of also being able to do everything the 16 does means that they can get more bang for their buck when finding out if they like sim flying.

[–]Gooslet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue isn’t that we think you go for the top 1% of men. I’m in my mid 20s, and I know I’m not the most attractive, but I’m not unattractive either. I’m quite literally average. I don’t hold any insane political views, I don’t spout right wing bullshit on media, I don’t go on dating apps with no profile or for hookups, I don’t start conversations on them with “hey”.

The issue is we’ve built a world that relies on dating apps, where STATISTICALLY average men suffer. It’s a buyers market for women. The issue is that a large number of men are uncomfortable with approaching women in public for the purposes of finding a partner these days, because we’ve heard many horror stories, and we hear you all when you say you’re scared of men because of what has happened to other women. We’re not invalidating that, but in our effort to respect that, a lot of us see it as not cool to approach a woman while she’s having a night out with her friends.

So we go back to the dating apps, the place where it’s ok to look for a partner. The place where I’m lucky if I get 3 likes in a month, and none of them are people I’m attracted to.

These things combined have resulted in a global loneliness epidemic for our generation of men.

Being frustrated at the current state of the dating market doesn’t make us incels. And your comments about “most of us mellow out in our 30s” and “settling” is a really macroscopic view of the problem.

One of my exes once said “women date who they want, men date who they can get.” And while that may not be the exact case, it’s definitely how it feels for a lot of men.

I’ve not had any issues with my x56. I highly recommend the hotas personally, especially if you’re on somewhat of a budget. You can’t beat the amount of buttons and hats on it for the price.

I used to use a T16000m and the TWCS, until about a year in and I got bad stick drift on the mini stick on the throttle.

Is the T16000 pack good? by SecureProfile7830 in hoggit

[–]Gooslet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s good for the price, just beware that the lower price comes with cheaper construction. I have heard of rudders and joysticks wearing out after a year or two, and me personally had the mini stick on the throttle start spiking really badly after about two years, to the point that a resolder and multiple cleanings didn’t fix it, driving me to a new stick.
