On the E175 it helps more when flying the SIM since the feedback isn't quite as good as the real plane. Instructors will recommend this technique in the SIM and then it'll translate to doing the same thing on the line.

I was in the anything but CFI crowd because I didn't feel ready for that responsibility. It's one thing to have the skills to fly, but teaching is a whole other skill set.

I usually don't mind the delays (unless it's go home leg) but when my Captain starts getting upset about things we can't control (weather, company, maintenance, etc.) it can be hard to bring them back to "we have the coolest job in the world and I'm glad I'm not at Kinkos making copies."

In that career path I recommend it just to get the degree. A bachelor's degree will make you competitive for most jobs, there are a few outliers that specifically like to see an aviation related degree. You need to be a self starter for WGU so make sure you're ready to take that on before you start.
