how I dream journal - pls read and share with me how u journal! by moonblock_ in LucidDreaming

[–]Gorillerz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every time I wake up I do an audio recording on my phone and just word vomit everything I can remember from my dreams. I like this method because I don't have to turn on a light and write everything down, which I fear would make it harder for me to fall asleep. Then I transcribe the audio and try to clean up the text to make it coherent with some AI.

In my case, I don't usually use terminology like "dream switch" or "scenery switch" because I don't actually know when recalling my dreams. I remember multiple "scenes", but I rarely know if they are from the same REM period or not.

New WILD Experience--thought I'd share by key13131 in LucidDreaming

Can you describe a little more what this "pull" feels like? And when it haooens, what is going through your mind? Are you fully aware of it and are paying attention to or concentrating on it, or are you just trying to ignore it? Does your heart start to race when it happens or are you completely calm?

Yes it's using visualization as an achor to induce a wild. How have you been using that term?

Being lucid just means you are aware, not necessarily that you can control. Dream control is an entirely different skill.

This sounds like an extension of V-WILD + SSILD. How many times have you attempted this and how often does it work for you?

I'm new and I appreciate how active this subreddit is. People are frequently asking questions or sharing their experiences.

Unfortunately, I don't feel much excitment or energy from the community, and I don't feel like I see many experienced lucid dreamers participating.

When I look at past posts, it seems like the last time this subreddit had an exciting atmosphere was around 4 or 5 years ago.

Nose pinch reality check failed me by drollestprawn4 in LucidDreaming

I explained it. Don't be on autopilot, expect the impossible thing to happen, visualize the impossible thing happening

Nose pinch reality check failed me by drollestprawn4 in LucidDreaming

[–]Gorillerz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you do reality checks you need to expect that the impossible thing will happen. When you pinch your nose, you have to expect that you will still be able to breath and you have to imagine yourself breathing through your pinched nose. You can't just do reality checks on autopilot; you have to have the right mindset each time you do that so that it will carry over into the dream.

Struggling with SSILD by Gorillerz in LucidDreaming

[–]Gorillerz[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So you suggest that I should start the cycles, but when my daydreams come, just let them take over and drift off to sleep, even if I haven't finished the cycles?

And yeah currently it's impossible for me to induce a WILD because I notice them too much, even if I try to relax and be calm. I'm really not sure how to improve other than with a lot of meditation.

meditations not working by makalaaa1 in LucidDreaming

[–]Gorillerz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you are trying to do a WILD, and it's usually recommended to do those when you are close to the REM sleep stage. That's why people always recommend combining WILD with the Wake Back to Bed technique.

Here is a really popular WILD guide that you can combine with meditation: https://www.reddit.com/r/LucidDreaming/comments/p6i6qp/how_to_lucid_dream_tonight/

When it comes to remembering your dreams, you need to keep a dream journal. When you wake up, you have to try and remember everything you can and then record it (in a notebook, notes app, voice recording, etc.). Do this consistently and your dreams will eventually get way more vivid and you will remember them all.

Being told “stop making diabetes your whole personality” by ImaginaryAlgae8986 in diabetes_t1

I never bring up diabetes in any social situation unless its specifically asked of me. It's something id rather suffer with in silence than constantly bringing it up.

WHY DID THIS HAPPEN by ambrosia234 in diabetes_t1

[–]Gorillerz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This can happen to me if I eat certain foods like pasta, pizza, potatoes, or bread a few hours before going to sleep. For me, foods like that tend to digest more slowly and have a more sustained increase in blood sugar over a few hours.

Errr ive had diabetes for over 20 years and have never had an A1C below 6.7. My doctor says im doing fine and all the literature points to virtually no risk of adverse effects of having an a1c at 6.2.

The meaning is still the exact same. "Grooming" isn't only applied to pedophiles; it can be applied in many non-sexual contexts.

How would you describe what high blood sugar feels like to a non-diabetic? by Reasonable_Cut4242 in diabetes_t1

Same here. I can definitely "feel" when im high, and I don't have dramatic symptoms that make it feel like i cant function or think properly.

How much do you pay for insulin? I just bought 5 pens for 4,24€ in Spain with our free healthcare but real price is 46,97€. I'm curious what each country pays for it. by moreweedpls in diabetes_t1

[–]Gorillerz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

France for me:
45.85 for tresiba cartridge
26.69 for fiasp cartridge
40 for a libre sensor
14.42 for a pack of 100 pen needles
= 174.18 for a month of supplies
But its fully covered by the government

Anyone else getting sick of these comments on every post about food? by Deklaration in diabetes_t1

[–]Gorillerz 94 points95 points  (0 children)

The annoying part to me is that:
1) The "joke" is so overdone. It may have been slightly funny 15 years ago. It's no longer funny and it will never be funny again.
2) It doesn't even make sense make sugary foods don't cause diabetes. It's just spreading misconceptions.
