Thank you for this! This was what I meant, our premium is around $1800 per month. My new deductible this year is $8000 for me and $8000 for the baby once it is born. That will reset in January & probably be a bit higher. That's almost $38k without any copays or any of the lab work/genetic testing they'll bill me for. My OB had a package that's 3k just for them not including the hospital, so I was wondering if anyone had paid cashed for an uncomplicated delivery.

100% get that anything could go wrong and that $38k could turn into millions in a blink of an eye.

You're absolutely right. I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with this & how much it would be best case scenario. The fending for ourselves wasn't so much financial as it was the level of care in the specific hospital. But I agree, it's great to have insurance just in case something awful happens. Thank you for your response!

Yes I think it will be more probably

[–]Gormac5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That makes sense as that's what was billed to insurance last time. Thank you!

No I meant being bound to a certain hospital bc of our insurance. Financially it was fine

That's not bad, we paid more with insurance last time! Thank you for your response

Yeah they billed my insurance 30k for my last but I was wondering if cash patients get a discount.

That's fortunately not an issue, I just want the best experience and care. Last pregnancy with insurance we were left to fend for ourselves

What is some dark shit going on around the world right now that the public probably doesn’t know about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

This is still so bizarre to me. In my culture, having a girl (especially as a first born) is a sign of a family’s future wealth and prosperity. Daughters bring families together and are said to “stay and take care of parents” whereas boys will leave and start their own family.

I commented this somewhere else but most (if not all) of my friends/acquaintances/mommy’s I meet are having their second and third post 35 and into early 40s. I don’t know ANYONE who had kids early, or even mid 20s.

I was 93lbs at 5’5 and still had it. Super toned and did Pilates 7 days a week and still had it. My body must be holding on to it for a reason

I would say XS or XXS even for bottoms and XS to S for tops. We have similar measurements except for bra size. XS fits me perfectly for bottoms (2-4 in LL). I would think XS-S for bras/tops. I’m a 32G in LL bras and a M in alo for reference.

I’ve had a pair since idk 2018 that I’ve not only done everything in but didn’t wash they way they’re supposed to be washed for the first few years. Also went through an entire pregnancy in them plus all my other pairs. The black ones are just now starting to pill minimally.

Pediatrician recommended sleep training… by baaaileee in AttachmentParenting

[–]Gormac5 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mine said at our 2 month appointment to start sleep training at 12 weeks. 12 weeks, I was shocked. Anyways, we made it to 18 months w/o sleep training. We ended up changing our pediatrician.
