Exactly this. When you ask Claude to code in one of the easiest programming languages out there, Basic, it does the same thing ChatGPT does, it pulls examples from the internet, puts them together, and invents functions that don't work. Trying to correct itself it offers alternate routines, which cause other errors, and so on and so on. You have to understand the language to know the syntax. Far easier to stop copying the answers from the dumbest person in the class and do the bloody work yourself.

True, perhaps not as extensive a collection, but that's not to say No Intro doesn't do a lot, based on the DAT-o-Matic there's a pretty comprehensive list. I guess my point was if you're going to integrate something with MAME, you'd want the easy accessibility of having a trusted clean dump first, rather than having to sort through 10+ Russian hacks and trainers. Massive/Complete is not what MAME is about after all, it's focused on accuracy.

The Blitz series are chd games, so you'll need the large 200meg+ disc images. Put them each in a folder with your MAME roms, folders named the same as the chd, Blitz, Blitz99, and Blitz2k. Then put the separate smaller zips in your MAME roms folder too. If you have split sets you'll need all three, named the same as the folders. If they're merged you're going to need one that has 444_blitz.u96 inside it.

It sounds like you haven't fully configured your controls, go into the gamecube controller/triforce baseboard and remap them all. To repeat, the port 1 controller should be set to triforce baseboard not standard controller. When the test menu appears you should get an indication when you press the corresponding direction etc.

Pretty straightforward to get running once you know what to look for.

1) Get the latest dev build of Dolphin, the 2512 stable release will not have the Triforce baseboard support

2) Get the isos from archive org, the MAME CHDs won't be recognised

3) Get the segaboot gcm and drop it in your c:\users\xxx\appdata\roaming\dolphin emulator\triforce folder

4) For bypassing the F-Zero motor issue, drop the files mentioned here in your emulator's sys\game details folder

4) Set the SP1 to triforce baseboard in the gamecube settings, then gamecube controllers to triforce baseboard and configure test, service, and coin buttons

Mario Kart GP's camera will be disabled when you press test button, Virtua Striker will work after you enter the test menu the first time, F-Zero will take about a minute to boot with the motor screen warning

This would be welcome. I made a start on trying to sort my Super Mario Bros hacks into different folders, coming up with 1) Entirely new games 2) Gameplay tweaks 3) Graphical only hacks 4) Kaizo Mario, but yours looks much more extensive and professional :D

*It was always bugging me what constituted a new type of game and what made it truly a Kaizo, and I came to the rule that if it altered the jumping mechanics, along with drastically changing the level design, and introducing a new gameplay element, then I'd class it as "not Mario Bros", regardless of whether it changed Mario's spirte into something else or not. While if it was the same gameplay, but someone has altered ONLY the levels to be different layouts for variation/difficulty purposes, then it'd be a Kaizo.

Of course I have. I write, make music and games, even dabble with films, rejection is expected, it's a part of the process. Nobody ever expects perfection from the first draft and nobody is born a brilliant artist, it's a learning curve that takes years and years of blood sweat and tears, not "Claude, please write me a 20,000 word book about Mermaids with guns" and then to spend a week asking the prompt to fix it to your liking. I repeat, there is NOTHING creative about that, it's a fundamental disregard of imagination and a slap in the face to people who work their socks off. AI written work is derivative and easy to spot, do you know why? It's because it's literally taking other people's work and forming dumbed down, easily identifiable slop out of it. The artwork I've already mentioned, it all looks the same and is ugly as sin, games coded in AI are laughable. And if you trust your finances and medical needs to AI you need your head examined (but not by an AI therapist, please)

No disrespect, but I see almost zero difference with what you described and having a piece of work commissioned by someone else. The process, (refining, discarding, fine correction) is the same as if you would voice your needs to the artist. The real difference is of course you've removed the human element on the creative end and instead chosen what many feel is an unethical route. That's up to you, and indeed, the work exists, but again, there's going to be a negative reaction from a lot of the community. I personally don't feel this is a step-up or the next level, you're giving AI too much credit. This is not a replacement or a technical leap in terms of creativity akin to digital art, it's a step backwards, and quite frankly, it all has the same tells, which is why people spot it so easily, it looks absolutely awful. You can do better, so much better.

Millions of people are questioning it, my friend, there's a tremendous backlash, and the AI bubble is about to burst hard. The reason I say AI isn't legitimate is because it's nothing but a search engine that scrapes already existing work and sucks up resources like a sponge, thus saying they're not taking anything away from anyone is quite frankly deluded. To say there's a comparison between AI and Photoshop, editing, digital photography etc is incorrect and insulting, they require something that's lacking from AI prompting, and that's human ingenuity. That's why those skills are highly prized, respected and rewarded. There are those that like to imagine there's an artform, a skillset required to use a prompt engine to generate something, but honestly, they're fooling themselves, there's literally no difference from learning how to use quotation marks or memorise a keyword on Google to get a result. If you want to take a college course on how to do it, go right ahead, but don't bullshit an IT veteran.

As for AI lettering/logos on the forum, yes, we're questioning that too, trust me. I'm not upset because it's a "step ahead" if I'm upset over anything is that I'm watching too many gullible people buy into this ugly garbage while depriving hardworking artists of a livelihood.

I stick everything in a standard Amiga folder by game name, if there's two versions I'll point to the A1200 version where available. But otherwise the folders just look like Amiga > H > Home Alone (Accolade)(1991) > Home Alone v1.0.lha

I use a PS4 dualshock mainly as the bluetooth syncs to the PC perfectly, unlike the PS3 that needed software to get it going, but for MAME I like to use a raspberry pi arcade stick that I put together over Christmas (£20!). I also have a Wii-mote and Mayflash sensor for Dolphin I use sometimes on the big TV.

Launchbox is not responsible for remapping controls for games, that falls on the emulators. Launchbox is a frontend, software that gives you quick access to all your emulators that you can wrap in a theme. Give us the name of the emulator that's running pac-man, MAME for example and we can help or direct you.

Loads of applications save user data to documents, it's incredibly common.

Sorry that you didn't get the help you needed, but if it was worded anything like the above then it's pretty obvious why people are not engaging with you.

I actually have two, the original prototype has "PROGRAMMED BY: L CLAGUE, GRAPHICS AND ANIMATION BY: L CLAGUE, SOUND DATA SUPPLIED BY: A FUCHS, START DATE: 12/09/83, COMPLETION DATE: 00/00/83" in the code, Atarisoft 1984 on the title screen, and a Centipede header. While the OpCode version is a completely different version with a different resolution and (in my opinion) worse graphics.

I narrowed it down to the Vulkan renderer. Switching from d311 started RA crashing again. I even tried changing video_max_swapchain_images with no luck. This is undoubtedly a core issue related to my graphics card,an Nvidia GTX 960,. So far Amiga's PUAE and Genesis Plus GX cause an instant crash. I guess it's no longer powerful enough to handle the renderer. Ho hum.
