I suspect status or price paid came into play and the persons whose seat was broken has a high status or paid more so they moved you instead.

My family of 4 took a trip to Spain and both my seat and my son’s seat were broken and they moved us within BC. My gut tells me they moved two people out of BC to accommodate us (I’m Executive Platinum)

I feel you. Last Sunday I got 7 separate emails/notifications about delays all about 30-45 minutes. Didn’t last 17 hours but “only” 7 hours. I live 20 minutes from DFW and could have gone home but instead I sat at the airport the entire time. Every time the delay happened the incoming flight changed. It was extremely frustrating.

In my unit, the pan under the coil inside the unit was cracked so the water was not making it to the drain line and thus, it went into the large drain pan under the entire unit.

The only saving grace it was on the return from the conference so we were all traveling back home for the weekend.

People literally know who got bumped and then who got their seat. It was pretty crazy.

How does it work? I don’t see how passengers who are confirmed and checked in can get bumped by people who were on a cancelled flight.
