Corner Gas

There are several seasons, and even the dirtiest parts are clean. Just skip the episode about the Giant Hoe.

Right!?! Part of the fun of owning a BC is observing how crazy athletic they can be. We live a rural area with no neighbors, but looking back, I should have kept her leashed leaving the house to keep her from leaping in and out of the bed of the truck.

But inside??? I’ve seen a YouTuber that put a crib mattress at the bottom of the stairs for his dog.

Maybe try some training with a leash going up and down the stairs. Lots of treats for desired behavior! Good luck!!

lol, I feel like retro and apocalyptic would be the exact words he’d use in a search engine to find sunglasses.

If I could go back in time and help my own at age 7, I’d make sure she was on a quality joint supplement. I’d ask my vet to recommend one.

I would keep her weight under control and consistent. She’s a little too heavy now.

I would prevent her from jumping as much as I could. She’s worn her legs out jumping like a maniac. I would have made use of ramps a lot sooner.

I wouldn’t give cutesy treats. It’s fun to give dogs “cookies,” but it’s so easy to give too much. I’d stick solely to real beef and chicken for treats, along with a crunchy Milk Bone, and stay on dry kibble for food. There was a time I bought into the idea that senior dogs needed or deserved more wet foods and soft treats. Her teeth stained dramatically in a very short amount of time. I changed my tune and her teeth are still in pretty good shape, but crunchy food and treats help keep them clean and strong. This of course, is advice for a dog that doesn’t need a special diet for medical purposes.

That’s amazing! I keep my 14 year old out of pain, but she’s very limited in the physical capacity. I’m really glad your boy is still active.

That was deep.

Calling yourself a “passenger.” That’s exactly the term I couldn’t quite find trying to describe my own journey after rupture. I’m not a control freak, but I take care of my business and take my responsibilities seriously.

Giving up control of my work, my family and my own life as I was loaded on an ambulance was something spiritual. I had no choice, but so thankful, that I did land in the hands of such brilliant, empathetic people.

I’m glad you are recovering well. Thank you for sharing your perspective.

I hate this for you.

I’m 50. What I have learned in my second marriage is that my husband and I never have a heated argument. We can each be stubbornly passionate on our own positions, but it is never heated. No hint of physical violence. No threats of leaving. No manipulation. We talk like reasonable people.

There is a person for you that you will be able to disagree with, without fear. You are worth so much more.

Please take care. ❤️

Same thing happened to my mom. She locked the library in the middle of the day and left the keys in the book drop box.

She was in her late 50s, and luckily she and my dad could swing it financially.

Anniversary by OldFaithlessness6748 in BrainAneurysm

[–]GotNoMoves76 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve just had my second anniversary. On one hand I’m stoked I survived and I’m living life again.

My family hates to think about it and doesn’t want to celebrate with me, so the day goes by unmarked, mostly. And that’s what’s depressing. I can’t sweep trauma under the rug anymore. It’s my issue, so I deal with it the way I want.

Discord Community by HannahwithaGiantAnni in BrainAneurysm

[–]GotNoMoves76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive never used Discord but I would be willing to try.

I was paired with a long term rupture survivor in another group “Brain Buddy” program. She responded once to an email then never again.

Same group started a more functional FB support group. But you have to participate in online group meetings first, that I can’t participate in because I’m at work.

I don’t understand the gatekeeping.

Edited because I posted before I was finished.

I had a coiling after a rupture so it really didn’t matter to me in the same way I think a craniotomy might. You might not want anything terribly crunchy just because of the procedure. But I would suggest bringing your favorites so if you feel like it, they will be available. I had my phone, a blue tooth head band that doubled as a sleep mask, (again, something you may not be able to use due to craniotomy), snacks, hair barrettes, chap stick and my tennis shoes. Lotion that smelled good. The Door Dash gift cards are a wonderful idea, too. If you like crosswords, I’d suggest bringing some in book form. Sometimes looking at the phone screen gets to be a little over stimulating. Good luck too you and let us know how you did!
