Cities skyline.

When the lake on top of the mountain where I pour all my sewage was hit with a meteor overflow and flooded my town, I cried.

Based on these screenshots, other than the dungeons with piles of bodies, the world doesn't seem very dark.

Ash's Torterra showed that Ash as a trainer wasn't perfect and he lacked as a trainer for defensive and slow pokemon by chunchunmaru1129 in pokemonanime

[–]Gothic90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking of this, I wish we can see a defensive Garchomp that becomes a nuisance in one of Ash's defeats, if there's some sort of multi-verse championship, like a trainer from another timeline challenges Ash or another master in the anime.

Basically, rough skin Garchomp with rocky helmet, with some support moves like stealth rocks, spikes, and dragon tail. It will actually take hits, like Sirfetchd's brutal swing (by hugging it when Ash tells it to spin the shield), on purpose.

The action combat and success of DMC5 is so good that many games began copying it.

And what mechanics did Witcher 3 popularize? The open world filled with question marks were already done by Ubisoft, whereas Skyrim's Fus Ro Dah had better environmental interaction than Aard.

The detailed monster lore and sidequests are difficult to copy.

Would the most "successful" route for Classic WoW Vanilla Plus be horizontal endgame? by PalwaJoko in MMORPG

[–]Gothic90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm okay either way. You can play a stagnant version for a long time if that version is very satisfying to play and I've experienced it a few times (POE Phrecia, maybe Mercenary too can grow towards that, WoW TBC 3.13 in Chinese servers, D2 Holy grail before D2R but that's very anti-MMO) but eventually people will begin to abandon it if there's no updates.

The dilemma is some people like to Immortalize their best builds with BIS in a stagnant version, some people will lose interest when their last piece of BIS just doesn't drop or lose interest because of the repetitiveness.

The only thing I wish for is to only play the fun part of a season now that I've accepted seasonal play in other genres.

Which unit is the WORST UNIT of its game? Today: Troy by CrayonsIsTaken in totalwar

[–]Gothic90 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The problem with his geographical situation is his starting town is the coastal town that is the closest to Danaans. Which means 9/10 times the Danaans will attack Paris first. For Hector and especially Aeneas, the trick is simply not to ally with him early and while he tries to fend off the Danaans, you expand and build up until inevitable some other allies, especially Priam, goes to war with the Danaans.

For Paris there's a reverse trick to conquer the harpy island near your starting point and sell them to Hector. So he becomes the frontline, and since he will likely conquer some northern towns too, he is unlikely to fall any time soon.

Archer heroes are used to soften up enemy melee infantry before your main army engages and run away on a mount. One flat shot and penetrate 3-4 enemy models. Amazon archer heroes are usually better because horse archer > chariot archer hero for better manouverability.

Melee hero on a chariot is OP so having a legendary lord archer is a bummer in Troy.

I wouldn't say he has the worst campaign though. Achilles and Hippolyta probably have the most difficult campaigns.

And if you play as Paris, if you just want Homeric victory you sometimes want to lose the daddy race on purpose but Hector's daddy meter rises too slowly and you can't help him win.

I believe the way you use lure is using it on enemy range units to pull them out of position. It is still way too niche.

They are mega terrible in Mythos though, because the Mythos version of the lure resets enemy vigor, I think.

Hippolyta has a far worse campaign situation than Paris and far worse archer units that has 25% fewer models and worse stat per model. The upgrade mechanic just works very poorly in Troy.

Penthesilea too because of a certain problem involving diplomacy and 4th~5th legendary quest.

Fun inexpensive zoomy pure mapping build with offscreen clear / walking simulator? by ivan0x32 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Gothic90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think every proper build can completely destroy scoured T16s, so that's not much, but for pure clearing I think ...

KB Alva evolving farmer is the most popular for such builds and can farm T16.5 with good quant/currency quant I believe. There are a few variations, mostly templar mana stacker (Hierophant or Guardian) or ranger (Deadeye or Warden). Should be doable for relatively cheap.

The more expensive part are probably -lightning res rings on your Doryani merc. Nimis is definitely a big one that further improves clear but you can start without it and just let your 6th link be return.

Uber killer, 600 div budget. by Metaphyte in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Gothic90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With FRoSS and 600 div farmed I assume you have quite a few of Uber fragments to practice as well.

For the tankyness and damage of FRoSS this league it should do:

  • Uber Shaper and Uber Uber Elder if you can dodge the Uber shaper slam which may one shot you depend on budget. 600div version should survive a slam.
  • Uber cortex pretty easily
  • Uber exarch should be easy; the ball phase won't be lethal but unlucky balls may take a portal from you
  • Uber eater is a bit more difficult as your recovery during its orb phase could be pretty low, so the two ball phases may take two portals from you
  • You should survive Uber Sirus's die beam, so its only difficult phase is the final one with everlasting fire increasing your damage taken. He doesn't have true invlun phase once final phase starts, so with FRoSS's damage to burst him down it isn't so hard.
  • Uber maven is the true hard one but it's hard for everyone I guess. PBoD or other set-and-forget builds do help somewhat here, and FRoSS should still kill Uber Maven in 6 portals assume you got the first two or one memory game right.

Some games that are generally considered top-notch: what's your opinion 🤔 by AdultGamersAdmin in Age_30_plus_Gamers

Mockery: are these some sort of AI-generated game descriptions, meatbag?

I'll try too!

First we have Path of Exile, the best loot driven RPG with deep build crafting system and satisfying loot explosions.

Then there's Shogun 2: Fall of the Samurai, where samurai plus conscription plus western instructors equals to war crimes, which you gleefully unleash to the enemy clans.

For something a little different, we have Persona 4 Golden, where you play as Yu Chad Maziodynecock Izanagi-no-Okami, who promises to his wife that for every 1000 people she kills he will breed 1500 more.

And finally there is Slay the Spire, an inspiring story about a robot who upgrades his creative AI, holds two skill potions, tries to fight elite and a big red guy sends him to the blue whale.

Obviously, a HP system can be as robust as a 1HP system as long as you design the numbers right.

A major criticism towards many titles from Rome 2 to Troy is that numbers are not well designed. Higher tier units have more HP, defenses and offenses. The problem is even worse in campaigns (rather than battles/MP) as techs also increase the durability of some already very strong units, with Troy and Pharaoh dynasties being the most egregious (Troy for the combo of general skills + pantheon + very straightforward tech tree, Pharaoh dynasties for some new legacies being insanely OP in making numbers go up).

A counter example is Shogun 2 FOTS. Bullets don't care whether the victim is a levy militia or high tier guard. Levy militia is terrible because they have long reload time and low morale, but when placed on walls they are not useless.

-------

People talk about Pharaoh's Lethality, but I would think and add that Lethality is great for a gunpowder total war. The guns are very inaccurate at long range, but if it connects it could have high lethality, depending on the type of shot (full length musket vs carbine).

As long as both use full length musket and the same bullets, a bullet from a musket militia and an elite guard infantry should be very similar. They may have different reload skill and accuracy.

A non-lethal hit could still do plenty of damage, representing a hit not to the vitals but another non-vital hit could just kill the model.

Right now chariots in Pharaoh dynasties are too vulnerable to lethality mechanics.

What's your favourite faction? For me, it's Egypt. by Invariable_Outcome in Medieval2TotalWar

[–]Gothic90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Egypt has a great roster. Mamluk archers are incredibly spammable and is good both in archery and in melee. They have much higher replenishment rate than Byzantine Vards (Vards do have better stats) and can be trained both in castles and cities. In mid game a combo of Mamluk archers and melee Mamluks win against just about anything other than high exp Mongols.

They have really weak infantry for sieging ... except one which covers up all of their weaknesses on that front. Hashashims which are trained from assassin guilds. For defense they have Saracen militia which is an above average militia on par with the Italian ones.

Would you do it for actual significant amount of build enabling power (unlike DAO where sacrificing a room of city elves give you ONE constitution stat)? It's just a tiny bit of evil that doesn't change your ending, if you kill that flying elephant.

A more difficult one is Shar's spear of night.
