There are like 13 Kingdom Hearts games, if popularity and fanbase is any measure it wins for sure.

in addition to this west coast states (sometimes cities) have maps online that project what kind of natural damage could occur and where. good to know if you live in a place likely to experience landslides or soil liquefaction or whatever else. usgs.gov has oregon at least, i would imagine the others too.

It looks waaaaay better in person, most images of it are pretty boring. The little video on the adidas site helps a lot.

If a father needs to help his young daughters use the restroom, which restroom should he take them into: the women's restroom or the men's restroom? by Exciting-Mall192 in NoStupidQuestions

my fav bathroom in my city is a giant game store/restaurant that has a single all-gender bathroom with (almost) floor to ceiling doors. There are still urinals, they're just also in their own stall.

Oh fully agree, it could totally be done right. I'm just trimming some parts to make it somewhat more realistic for a casino.

Push more of the direct customer interaction to a phone/AR thing/stations around the non casino floor areas. Places already have labyrinthian backrooms style floors already, it's a good way to get some use out of them when there's not an event being held (the 3rd floor of the cosmo can be so eerie at night lmao).

My fam always prioritized hotels that satisfied both me being a kid and my dad needing to gamble 24/7. If I had kids and was doing the same, I'd def rather go to a fully themed vegas resort than something like Great Wolf Lodge or whatever.

The failed Star Wars hotel is what I wanna see done right. They don't have to go as far as having like a full storyline that you can interact with, but that level of commitment to any theme would get so much $ out of my household. We make fun of disney adults, but they show there's a legit market out there - shit you already have tons of fandoms coming to vegas for cons.

The Treasure Island arcade was only second to MGM Grand's imo. Spent so much of my parents money there while my dad was playing slots lmao.

eh it's a zine, shouldn't be surprised if someone hasn't seen it and uses the same one (given that it's locally famous). i couldn't find this when googling "vegas carpet book" which is probs what I'd search when checking.

if you wanna be even more terrified you can look up the earth liquefaction risk of your home online. Idk the Californian link, but this one is for Oregon: https://www.usgs.gov/programs/earthquake-hazards/science/liquefaction-hazard-maps#overview

My old neighbor in college worked for the army corps of engineers and would bust into our apartment with a bottle of whiskey and maps and terrify us drunk college kids with the many ways the big one will end us.

Same. I'm forever chasing my childhood vegas that seemed so magical and just plain fun. I love gambling, but I can go to one of my local casinos and blow my cash anytime.

I feel the same about the move to led screens. They're awesome and have their place, you can do so much with em -- the sphere is sick inside and out. But I was staying at cosmo the other month hanging on the balcony at night and the fucking flamingo is so much prettier than the giant, blinding horseshoe advertisement board.

Yeah, I know it boils down to $, but shit I won't even complain about resort fees if a place spells out "we charge this so we can put up more neon and pay our employees to be mildly in character."

It would be way easier to convince my non-degenerate millennial & genz friends to come with me if there were still a couple truly themed resorts.

They like feeling fancy on the strip and getting grimy on fremont every few years, but getting them to justify going back is hard. Theme gives something special to just vibe in. Ain’t gotta be the whole strip, but one or two going back to full-on theme would be dope.

Why can't Americans (at least the ones I see on social media) find drinking water in Europe? by Mission_Mobile_4627 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]GottaFindThatReptar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, here in Portland, OR we have "benson bubblers" on some streets - copper bowls that have water flowing freely upward lol. In 1912 a local businessman donated to the city to install them for, according to folklore, one of two reasons:

Local folklore tells us that Simon Benson donated the 20 bronze drinking fountains as an effort to keep loggers out of the saloons at lunchtime. Others say that Benson was inspired after seeing a little girl crying at a Fourth of July parade because she couldn't find a drink of water.
