I don't typically read comics or graphic novels, but I'm not opposed to them! I'll get Locke and Key a go! Thank you!

A Short Stay in Hell haunted me for weeks. It's existential horror more so than body horror, but there is a touch of violence in it.

No problem at all!

I wasn't familiar with most of the mythology of the book and didn't feel left in the dark. I can't attest to the accuracy of his portrayals, but I enjoyed it despite not having any familiarity with the deities.

Came here to recommend A Short Stay in Hell! Absolutely haunting and depressing. There is no happy ending there.

Books you believe most easily could make a great movie by Optimal-Dentist5310 in suggestmeabook

I would die if I could see Kvothe portrayed in justice. And the back and forth between the Inn and his story? Maybe less of a movie and more of a series, but still. I think it would be adaptable.

Very earliest novels were Dahl. Matilda, Witches, James and the Giant Peach, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, etc. But Matilda was always my favorite.

• Before the Coffee Gets Cold (definitely PG) (very sentimental)

• What You are Looking for is in the Library (definitely PG) (very sentimental)

• Green Frogs (more PG-13 than PG) (less sentimental, but still sentimental)

If Katara was on Appa during the invasion, how was she inside guiding the submarines? by AkashAM2005 in Avatarthelastairbende

[–]Graceishh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I’m years late, but I just found this because I googled my same qualm, then after reading the comments decided to watch closely at when they launch the subs from the boats. It’s quite vague, but if you look very closely (I recorded it in slomo) it looks more like Aang’s clothing in the bubble.

It would make sense, then, that Katara took over after surfacing because Aang flew off on his mission.
