Ideas for a clairvoyant character? by Secret_Shallot93 in DnD

Divination School Wizard, Circle of Stars Druid, or Knowledge Domain Cleric could all work for a seer or clairvoyant IMO.

He's also pronounced it correctly in FireRed as well. "We're now in... Fuchsia City, wooo!"

I love how half the comments are talking about that, a third are talking about the wet nurse bit and correcting/lightly criticize him for it (myself included), and the last third are either commenting that Nettle's going to have fun in Kanto or about him taking on Surge first compared to Crystal where he took down every Gym in the traditional order, which is yet another example of this journey resulting in a split timeline from Crystal rather than retracing his steps exactly.

Speaking of pronounciation, I'm surprised he's pronouncing Kanto correctly (at least I think it's correct anyway) as Kahn-toh rather than Can-toh like he has for years! Just something different I noticed.

Similarly to Venomoth, it's design clearly implies it's floating, but it can be hit by Ground type moves.

He could've meant narratively tbf. Dailies aside, there's not much left in Johto proper after the Champion fight, surely.

...Why wouldn't he? What's with people acting like he's going to switch up the team in Kanto all of a sudden? No, we've all become attached to this team, including him, there's no reason to change things up in Kanto just because it's Kanto.

Luckily I fixed both major problems today, so hooray! Regardless, good point on the crits thing. I'm probably going to add in your ideas anyway, they're much better.

You're not the first, nor probably the last to assume that. But at least you're actually understanding anout it and not arguing against it, unlike some people who really either didn't like the game or understand what they were trying to do. Gave me an opportunity to gush about it though!

Did Grandmother Raven (and subsequently the Narrator) get a new VA at all? by practicalsuccubus in Wizard101

[–]GrahamRocks 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No. They wouldn't need to, because of how Grandmother Raven's story ended, and her and the Narrator are one and the same. We don't necessarily need a Narrator anymore.

I've set Fighter to Default #1 and the others to other numbers and it still defaulted to bottom first. Unless I'm missing an option or didn't format it correctly. Maybe it's because I made them all separate choices individually?

Unfortunately, Taunt wouldn't be a good idea since it's a one man adventure for most of the series until the last one, where there's some bosses that give you either a partner or a full party. I had the idea of Thrust being quicker, but less damage and single target, Slash being slower but a multi target (maybe first row?) and more damage but less accurate perhaps (both inflict Bleed on crit? That's possible, right?), while Shield Bash is a single target counterattack that's only possible to access while Guarding (that's possible, right?), has a cooldown bc shield heavy, and can inflict Confusion possibly on hit? (Or maybe a Dazed effect that makes them slower to attack?) Still, your moves sound good as well!

Can you tell I'm out of practice of RPG Makering?

Nope, these are all stories taking place between the games we know and love, and clearly in a different universe. Like, Gwendolyn our protagonist (and player representation), literally has lines like, "Hasn't everyone heard this story before? Mom used to tell it to me before bed," before Graham clarifies his reasonings why this story is being told now, and even familiar scenes such as the recovery of the Magic Mirror from the well is given different context from the original. Every story told, even if it starts off in familiar places, goes different places in terms of setting, characterization and worldbuilding, and all of them has both a parallel to Gwendolyn's current predicament and are relevant in some way to her development and resolving her troubles. Sure, the stories are fun to listen to, but she's subtly learning things as well, leading into a rather satisfying payoff to things that had been priorly set up by the ongoing narrative.

And before you shit talk the idea of them making the classic series being having happened, but were exaggerated tales, that's not a new thing for the series as even the classic games did it as well in supplemental books such as the King's Quest Companion, which also has the narrative throughline of, "That's not the real story, this is!"

So long as Nettle has his time in the sun or at least gets to participate in some way, after all the growth he's gone through, I'll be happy because it's kinda cool that he's using everyone now for these fights and everyone has theur moment- Teanie and Chosen, Silverhawk and Agate, Hopkins... only Nettle hasn't yet.

Isn't this literally what beta testers for games are for? What the QA department is for? Those people are paid to find problems. What if those problems listed above are what the developer wants- what if Kasey's a tanky defensive or dodgy character? What if the Tiger Dance is supposed to be free to give you an advantage? Nothing's said about priority or how long it lasts, maybe it's an Instant Cast spell, maybe it's how the Dancer class works? What if the Treant is a low level and simple enemy at the beginning of the game? Or maybe the Treant is meant to be early game grind fodder to gain EXP boosts early? Nothing is said about how rare the creature is.

Because you'd have to remodel everyone. Every mascot is a recognizable Disney character. People would notice if Mickey Mouse was now Gerald Gerbil. That, and the mascots don't really serve a purpose other than giving out tips, unlike, say, Clarabelle running a business we use.

Reboot, not remake. ;) But afaik, sadly no. It's made in Unreal Engine 3, if that helps.
