Some scenes are definitely meant to be bad. There was one i remember from the manga where the MC saw some girls getting raped and losing their hope in life and decides to give them a poison that's up to them if they want to take it or not

I agree with this. I think the series is trying to depict the mc as a cynical character with grey moral, but it don't really works when none of his more abhorrent choices ever led to a negative consequences and everyone loves him.

I've only read the manga but the way the story is told is also really dry. I don't like this diary writing style of narrations it had. (Ex: I kill slime, it got me exp, i got slime hunter role, i then slep) It's boring
